Hi I'm Carys Munks,

I am the founder of Candles to Calm. I live with a neurological condition and have a passion of giving back to the community who has supported me.

I started making candles in 2021 during the heart of the Covid pandemic. At the time it was a hobby but with focus to improve my mental health. Then, at the end of 2023, Candles to Calm was formed. Candles to Calm is aimed towards relieving people’s stress and anxiety by creating a tranquil environment in your own home. Lighting a candle is the first step in creating a spiritual sanctuary as an act of self-care or gift for a loved one.

The most interesting part of the art of candle making is that no one candle is the same.

Candles to Calm offers workshops where participants are DIY lovers from all over Perth, and they get to learn how to combine wax, scent and decor to create beautiful candles that they can take home! Each workshop also contributes a portion of the profits to a foundation that means a lot to me.

Workshops include:

All supplies (wax, scents, glitter, jars, equipment) are provided.
Step by step walk through and creation of your own candle from start to finish!
Afternoon tea.
Take home your own unique candle that you have created!

Workshops are a great idea for team-building or your next social activity such as parties!

My love of being creative is one of the main motivators in running my own business. My passion for crafts has driven me to create sustainable and environmentally friendly candles in Perth.
