Chainmail Jewellery Workshop

Discover the medieval art of chainmail jewellery

3 hours Class size 1 to 2 guests

$135 (Afterpay & PayPal Pay in 4 available)

Discover the surprisingly calming and creative art of chainmail jewellery in this relaxed, beginner-friendly workshop at The Joyful Creative.
Far beyond its medieval origins, modern chainmail is a beautiful and satisfying craft that involves weaving small metal rings together to create intricate, wearable pieces.
In this hands-on three hour workshop, Kerry from Kreative Kurator will gently guide you through the process step by step, showing you how to transform aluminium jump rings and beads into your own handcrafted jewellery.
Working rhythmically with your hands, you’ll experience the mindful, almost meditative nature of this tactile craft while learning foundational chainmail techniques in a warm and welcoming environment.
No experience is needed—this workshop is designed especially for beginners.
Your workshop kit includes all materials required, including aluminium jump rings, beads, stainless steel findings, and a beading mat. Pliers will also be provided for use during the session.
By the end of the afternoon, you’ll leave with your own handmade jewellery and the confidence to continue exploring chainmail at home.
What you'll get
All materials and afternoon refreshments are provided, and you will take home your own piece of chainmail jewellery.

I’m a creative workshop facilitator and the founder of The Joyful Creative, a studio dedicated to nurturing creativity as an everyday wellbeing practice.
For many years I’ve taught textile crafts, mixed media and mindful creativity to children, adults and people with additional needs. I love creating welcoming, inclusive workshops where everyone feels comfortable to explore and make, regardless of their experience level.
My teaching style focuses on the joy of the creative process rather than the pressure of perfect outcomes. Through simple, mindful techniques, participants often discover that creativity can be incredibly calming, grounding and confidence-building.
At The Joyful Creative studio, I offer workshops across a variety of creative disciplines — sometimes teaching them myself and sometimes collaborating with wonderful guest facilitators who share their skills and passion.
My aim is to create a space that feels a little like a gym for creatives - somewhere people can show up, play, experiment and rediscover the simple pleasure of making.
