Suitable for both complete beginners and those with fundamental knowledge of play, you will learn the rules, basic tactics, and strategies. You will have fun also playing and learning with like-minded chess beginners. This class is based on skill level, not age! Everyone is welcomed to learn the wonderful world of chess.For Intermediate-Advanced - Further your tactics and strategies in this hands-on class with a competitive over-the-board chess teacher. Suitable for players with a good foundation of the rules of play, experience with tactics, and strategies. In these sessions, we will cover openings, progress through the term to middlegames and endgames. Attending subsequent sessions will see you build on content learned from the last, when put together aims to provide a good base for improving the students' play overall. You are welcome to attend one or multiple weeks. Each session will be tailored to the attending students, so feel free to add a note in your booking to tell us if there's something specific that you would like to learn.Your teacher, Jacob, is a qualified competitive chess teacher. He's been playing competitive over-the-board chess for the past eight years, and he has a classical rating of 1964 which ranks him as 40th in the state currently.Jacob is experienced with teaching complete beginners through to preparing students to attend competitions.
