What you'll do
Join this exciting craft class at Fleurieu Arthouse, where your child will discover the fascinating art of brass rubbing. Don't worry if they've never tried brass rubbing before, it's incredibly easy and we'll guide them every step of the way! We'll show kids some handy tips and tricks to get them started, making it a relaxed and enjoyable experience for everyone. During the one-hour class, kids will get to choose from our collection of brass replicas, select their favourite paper, and pick a fine crayon in their preferred colour. They can even add a touch of medieval flair with some fun heraldry ink stamps!Parents and guardians are required to stay for the hour and are welcome to wander through the stunning Fleurieu Arthouse, admire the current exhibition, or grab a coffee while their child unleashes their inner artist.This workshop is a fantastic way to introduce your child to a different art form and explore their creativity together.

I am Susan, I am a full time mixed media artist with a studio open to the public at The Fleurieu Arthouse, McLaren Vale, South Australia.My art reflects my love of Medieval history with echoes of brass rubbings from replica memorial brasses from the UK along with elements of architecture and iconography. I have run children’s brass rubbing workshops interstate and am now offering these fun, informative small group sessions locally.My hope is to give your child a small insight to this art practice and a glimpse of history.
