Having always loved the fragrance, colour and sheer delight that flowers give, she naturally headed into floristry.Mary is the founder and owner of Poppies Flowers, located in the inner northern suburbs of Adelaide. If you pop into the studio, you’ll be sure to be guided into the perfect flower choice for your requirements. A firm favourite style is the timeless ‘Victorian posy’, a classic compact design of petite blooms, fragrant herbs and of course roses. Another of Mary’s specialities is wrist corsages –creating wearable flower designs to match and enhance the outfits of the wearer. Many an Adelaide Formal attendee will have at one point or another worn or presented a bespoke ‘Mary Read’ corsage.Mary love’s sharing her knowledge and the skills of her craft and when you select one of the classes, you’ll be sure to walk away with a new talent and a floral piece of your own creation.
