Join Fi in this collage art class and learn how to recreate the iconic red-tailed black cockatoo in your own unique style!
In this session, you will learn some of the techniques, materials and ideas involved to continue to create at your own leisure. The colour mixing and paper printing have been done in advance so that you can have a short session. We will use some specially created tools to help you achieve the required outcome.
Be reassured, Fi's projects are accessible to all kinds of people, no matter your age or level of art-making experience. The images shown here are all created by our guests who claim that they 'have no creative skills'.
Let's get stuck into a short, creative collage session. Learn about this fantastic medium for beginners (and those with existing creative skills), meet some other like-minded people, and complete and take home your own ready-to-hang image at the end of the session.
This session is perfect for small groups of family or friends.

My workshops are all about building creative confidence. Dynamic, joyful, accessible, informative, inspiring and achievable.
I have a formal background in design and over the past 30 years have developed a diverse practice in the visual arts. I reckon that flexing our creative muscles and building our confidence in ourselves and in others is a direct way to building better mental well being, and in turn, more resilient and dynamic communities.
How this started? Twenty years ago I was hospitalised flat on my back for 9 long difficult weeks. I vowed that when I was out of there I would pursue more of the things that made me happy. Do the things that really meant something to me. Revaluing my visual arts practice came out of this and it lead to a big shift in how I think about my own creativity and what I might do with it, to give it meaning to me and to others.
So in the past 20 years all kinds of great projects have come my way via my arts practice. Including working with government bodies, corporate bonding events, community development activities, invites to schools, collaborating with nature conservation bodies and best of all, meeting and working with so many 'raw beginners', who have then gone on to be inspired to find space in their lives for more creativity.
