Hi, I’m Karen Alsop! I am a world renowned photographic artist. But in recent years clay has become my creative adventure. There’s nothing I love more than taking wild local clay, Puffing Billy ash, and reclaimed materials and turning them into unique, story-filled pieces. Every texture, every imperfection, tells a story, and I love helping others discover that magic for themselves.I’ve taught hundreds of students across various art forms, run team workshops, and guided first-time enthusiasts to confident creators. In my classes, it’s all about exploring your creativity, having fun, and leaving with something you’re proud of.When I’m not teaching, I run the Story Art Gallery inside Melbourne’s historic Tram 772, where my ceramics, photography, and mixed media creations come together, and I lead The Heart Project, helping volunteers create portraits for children in hospitals. Art isn’t just what I do—it’s how I connect, create, and celebrate life.Join me in a class and experience the joy of shaping clay, telling your story, and making something truly yours.
