In this best-selling class you'll get insider tips from one of Otao Kitchen's top chefs so that you'll be able to make diy dumplings at home. You'll go through the process step by step and learn everything from how to make the perfect dough, how to create delicious dumpling fillings inspired by Japanese, Chinese and Vietnamese recipes, to how to shape and cook your dumplings. Dependent on your dietary preference you'll make pork, chicken, beef or vegetarian dumplings.
The dumpling party will come to a close with a delicious dumpling feast!

On the day:
Please arrive 10 minutes before the scheduled start time of the class. We cannot accommodate or refund for those who arrival after the scheduled start time, even if you call ahead. The instructor will be expected to start on time and will not be able to repeat the health and safety and/or demonstrations at the beginning of the class.

We can cater to different dietary requirements. If you need to cancel or reschedule a booking you must do this at least seven days before your class to cancel or reschedule. We are sorry that we cannot refund or rebook any cancellations made online or in person after this time. In the event that you are unwell we ask that you send someone in your place. The participants who are not unwell will still be expected to attend. Alternatively, if you provide notice prior to the class, you are welcome to collect the ingredients and online recipe to take home with you after the class. Please note that this may not be possible as fresh meats and seafoods in all cases.

Fewer guests and strict seating arrangements. Maximum guest numbers, density and distancing are tightly regulated. Signage displays allowable guest numbers and new hygiene protocols. QR codes with names and mobile numbers of all guests are held to assist with contact tracing. Guests showing signs of illness will not be allowed entry. Coats and personal items are kept separately. Online payments only are accepted. Store purchase EFTPOS machine is sanitised between uses.
Frequent schedules for cleaning and sanitising. All surfaces and touch points throughout are cleaned frequently. Heating and air-conditioning systems have been serviced to ensure proper fresh air flow. Team members are not permitted to be at work while showing signs of illness. We attended the class with 3 generations of family members - from 10 years old to grandparents. Everyone loved the class, learning to make dumplings from scratch. The teacher was great - demonstrating the making of the dough and filling, the different folds - and then came around giving individual assistance and guidance. It was a fantastic experience!

Chef Hu was organised and social with a good sense of humour!
All ingredients were supplied and food intolerances were catered for.
The recipes were emailed through ahead of time.
The venue is very well set up and comfortable to work in.
Once we had finished making the dumplings we had a little feast accompanied by a beverage of choice.

Just visited Otao over the weekend for a Dumpling cooking class! It was fantastic! So much fun and so easy to learn from chef Ha. He was very kind and funny and showed you in detail how to perform each step. We weren't rushed at all. We made chicken and pork dumplings. So much flavour with only a few ingredients. You also are offered a beer or wine to have with your dumplings once they're cooked. Definitely will be back to try a different class soon. There are loads of different cusines to choose from.

Much better then expected. No elements were pre-made so we learnt how to do every step using stuff we prob already have at home.

our team got together for our End of year Christmas break up and did a dumpling making course. The venue was great and in a central location, our teacher Dylan was fantastic, didn't go too fast and made sure everyone was on track and most of all the food was amazing. Would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to get their teams together or even a group of friends.
