Looking for an artistic after school program in Perth? EcoArt classes activate students' imaginations and replace screen time with hands-on making that intertwines the beauty of nature and sustainability into every creation.

Perfectly suited for primary school-aged children, this program is a great fit for creative kids who are enthusiastic about making art. No current skill level is required. Classes are kept small and provide lots of personalised attention.

Classes take place over ten weeks and include the following:

Week 1: Have fun ‘Printing Shells’ and natural objects
Week 2: Paint ‘Watercolour Flowers’ for Mothers Day
Week 3: Learn the art of ‘Weaving with Sticks’ and nature layers
Week 4: Create an ‘Inky Octopus’
Week 5: Discover how to create a ‘3D Bird Sculpture’
Week 6: Put the finishing touches on your sculpture
Week 7: Paint an interesting ‘Aussie Wildflower’ design
Week 8: Put the finishing touches on your painting
Week 9: Design and hand-make your own ‘Talisman Pouch’
Week 10: Draw and create a ‘Seed Mosaic design’


Knowledge required
Beginners welcome.

All materials are included and you will have lots of artwork to take home during the term.

This class series runs over 10 consecutive sessions, at the same time every week.

Hi, I’m Demelza.

Let me tell you a little about me.

I’m a qualified art teacher with a Masters in Art Education from Monash University.

What I learnt in my studies is that I’m passionate about community art education. I love seeing people connect, laugh and be present in the moment whilst creating.

Over the last year I have developed EcoArt workshops and retreats where the focus is on using NATURE as ‘inspiration for artwork and as art material’. My aim is always to develop classes so that anyone with any ability can join in with, overcoming their moans of “I’m not artistic” and surprising themselves.

My original Degree was in Contemporary Art from Edith Cowan before moving overseas to London and Bangkok and teaching for many years. I am an educator and tour guide annually at Sculpturebythesea and was cofounder of ARTPOD in Mosman Park.

I love sharing what I have learnt from all of my studies, travels and own art practice with people building an ever growing ‘EcoArt Community’.
