I am Eran Naylor and I am an Australian goldsmith and designer, originally from England. I began making jewellery about 25 years ago and simply never stopped. I was hooked and even today I find it hard to stop. I am mainly self-taught from a desire to create. I design and hand-make my collections from my workshops in Melbourne. I also teach classes at Gasworks Arts Park in Albert Park, have an online jewellery school and also teach by private tuition and Zoom.

Wax work is more my specialty and that is mainly what I teach. I love teaching, it keeps me surrounded by creative thinkers and that in itself gives back to me as much as I help others. So it’s a win-win situation that keeps the creative spirit alive!

My inspirations for my collections come first and foremost from designs and patterns from the old Mesopotamian regions, India and South America. In my late twenties, I became fascinated by Egyptology and that is where my love of adornment really flourished. I like to try to transfer the beauty of older times to bold, classic pieces that can be worn or used with ease today. I try to embody in my work the beauty and calm that adorns the wearer and has a bohemian feel and look about it, recreating feeling and senses into real pieces that can be worn like talismans every day.

Using materials, and colours and often experimenting with new techniques I try to create pieces that make the senses flow.

Eran’s class was excellent! She talked us through everything step by step. The venue was great held in an art studio in Albert Park. The class size was small so we got a lot of 1:1 help. I came out of the class with two beautiful rings I am more than impressed with

This was a personalised class where Eran considered what I wanted to get out of the class and my level of experience and ensured we covered those things. She deeply cared about the quality of the experience and had put a lot of thought and time into how the session ran and the materials provided afterwards.

Amazing to come out of a 2 session class with 2 completed rings! Eran was very warm, attentive and helpful, and the class of 8 people was the right size to allow her to give good support to all. There was clear instruction about how to use all of the equipment, and the venue worked well for the purpose of the class. I'd strongly recommend this class to others.

This is the second class I’ve done with Eran and will continue to learn from her as she is like a Jedi master of jewellery. She assists you wherever you need help in, teaches you in a way you’ll remember rather than just showing you and hoping you’ll remember, she emails all the notes and product lists after class but most importantly, she actually cares and is a passionate teacher. I’d highly recommend going to one of eran’s classes as you do feel like you are actually learning from a master and a master she is. She even sent us out to run a practical errand after our first class so we would learn how to do things ourselves which I found incredibly useful. Again, if you are looking into making jewellery, Eran is the master

I had my first (hopefully of many to come) class with Eran. She was an incredible teacher and we worked one on one in an incredibly well set up area. She was incredibly informative on all things jewellery related and inspired me to do more with my pursuit of creating my own jewellery. She gave me the opportunity to learn not just by showing me once off, but she set it up so I would do what she taught me repititiously which was much better than doing it once and hoping that I would get it. She was always checking in to ensure I understood the process which way great that I had the opportunity to get clarity or ask questions without feeling like a complete dummy. She is a natural teacher at her craft and has an innate ability to not just show you but truly teach you how to complete a task, what more could you ask for? I couldn’t recommend her highly enough as she is kind, patient, knowledgeable and just a great human and my knowledge base on all things jewellery making has expanded from my backyard to the universe.
