Step into the enchanting world of floral art in this all-day still life workshop at 302 Flower Farm, an easy 30-minute drive from Melbourne!
Amidst the blooming beauty of the flower farm, you'll embark on a tour with Anna and Ray, hand-selecting blossoms to arrange into a posy. After this, Emily will take you through constructing and painting a still-life painting using your blooms as inspiration. Throughout the day, you will be guided through the nuances of colour mixing, composition, and expressive detailing.
Whether you are a seasoned painter or a beginner, Emily will tailor tutoring to your needs on the day. With a cosy class size, you'll receive ample feedback and support. As the day draws to a close, you'll depart with a painted canvas, new skills, a pretty bouquet and hopefully a few new art friends.
Workshop highlights:
  • Head on a guided flower farm tour
  • Arrange your bouquet of blooms, which we will use on the day as inspiration for our paintings
  • Learn the art of sketching and composing an acrylic painting with a focus on colour mixing, layering techniques, and brushwork to infuse depth and movement into your artwork.
  • Connect with other artists and creatives
Workshop agenda:
  • On arrival: You will be greeted by Anna and Ray who will guide you on a tour of the flower farm. Anna and Ray will then take you through creating your posy.
  • Morning Session: Dive into the fundamentals of botanical painting, colour theory and composition with Emily.
  • Locally sourced lunch made by Anna and Ray
  • Afternoon Session: Refine your skills with advanced techniques, from creating realistic petal forms to adding highlights and defining foreground elements.
About Anna, Ray, and 302 Flower Farm:
Anna and Ray, behind 302 Flowers, moved to their stunning 10-acre property in the Macedon Ranges back in 1992. Situated atop a volcanic plain at 600 metres above sea level, their property boasts breathtaking vistas of city skylines, sunrises, and sunsets. What began as a love affair with the dramatic landscape evolved into a flourishing microflower farm, where proteas, natives, and a variety of heritage perennials thrive in the rich, red acidic soil. From the moment you arrive, you're greeted by a scenic drive lined with Eucalyptus trees, planted with care by Anna and Ray. Their commitment to the natural environment extends to their cultivation practices, producing fresh-cut blooms that embody excellence in quality, freshness, and sustainability. At 302 Flowers, every bouquet tells a story of harmony with nature, abundance, and the enduring beauty of the Australian landscape.

Hi, I’m Emily Raubenheimer—an artist, educator, and nature lover living in Northern Victoria. I’m a fully qualified teacher and taught in schools for 17 years before shifting my focus to painting and mentoring full time. Since graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Monash University in 2003, I’ve taught adults and teens, run workshops, and co-founded The Artists’ Guild—an innovative pop-up gallery and community space that supported women artists during its two-year run in Melbourne.
I’m now a full-time artist, working from my home studio and drawing inspiration from the bushland around me. My work tours across Australia with JUMBLED and other galleries, and focuses on celebrating native flora with bold colour and playful energy. It has been featured in Home Beautiful magazine, and has been shortlisted in several artprizes such as the Jumbled Superstar search and the Omnia Art Prize.
I’m also passionate about sustainability and developed an eco-friendly brush cleaner that’s safe for artists, kids, and the environment.
In my classes, I aim to teach techniques that are both practical and adaptable—skills that students can continue to use long after the session ends. I focus on building strong foundations in colour, composition, and brushwork, while also encouraging personal expression. We don’t all paint the same thing—every student comes away with their own unique artwork. I believe painting is a way to learn about ourselves: it’s about being present, building resilience, nurturing curiosity, and embracing mistakes as part of the creative process.
I customise each class to the students I have on the day—whether they’re experienced artists or picking up a brush for the first time—and always strive to create a warm, encouraging space where creativity can flourish.
