label $99 (or 4 payments of $24.75 Afterpay)

Looking for unique indoor activities to try this weekend? Join Live For Art's fluid art class in Melbourne and learn the Bloom style of fluid art!

In this class, you'll learn the 'Bloom' acrylic pouring technique from a friendly professional and then paint six or 12 ceramic coasters. After a quick demonstration from your teacher, you'll get the chance to get creative with colours and techniques to create your own unique coaster designs. You will learn two styles of Bloom, blowing on the paint and swiping.

This class will cover:

  • How to prepare your coasters
  • How to mix paints and paint mediums suitable for these techniques
  • The specific recipe needed for this technique and what difference this makes
  • How to choose colours and layer your paints in the cup or on the coaster
  • How to mix pigments
  • How to create beautiful cells or lacing in your art (without silicone oil).

You can choose from round or square ceramic coasters, or have a mix of both. The coasters come with stick on cork backings to protect your home surfaces when complete too.

If you would like to have a black metal stand to hold your set of six or twelve coasters with their own gift boxes, you can select this add-on at checkout.

Please note:
  • If you are keen to do more coasters, and choose the upgrade to 12 coasters, please allow another 30 mins of class time.
  • Coasters need to be finished with varnish or resin to make them water proof and suitable for use with hot or cold drink. Information will be given about how to do this, or you can attend a resin class to complete.
  • You will use non-toxic acrylic paint.
  • Maximum class of 8 participants for this style.
  • All participants will have their own desks.
  • Do not attend the class if you have or are a close primary contact of anyone with COVID-19, or if you are experiencing fever, chills or sweat, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, a runny nose or have a loss of taste or smell (a full refund will be provided if you are unwell).

Setareh Hosseini is now leading acrylic painting and other art forms at the Live For Art Studio. We are offering acrylic painting courses that paint a different style each week and plan to offer abstract classes and more.

Setareh is a visual artist who has exhibited internationally. As a child she was touched by her mothers art classes in a family where music and painting formed the atmosphere in the home. She has extensive experience teaching adults and children to be creative through a range of art forms and loves helping people be creative. Setareh completed a Masters of Illustration in 2005 at the Faculty of Art and Architecture, Tehran, Iran. She also has a BA in graphic design and an MA in illustration.

CHILDREN'S classes are held in the school holiday's and at other time, offering a range of art and craft activities, including paper mache sculture, book making, acrylic painting, fluid art, collage and more.
