Come and join the fluid art revolution with artist Julie Langdon at one of our FLUID ART workshops in our Richmond Studio. Julie explores a range of different acrylic pouring / fluid art techniques. Or join an ACRYLIC PAINTING or DRAWING workshop with a skilled artist, or CHILDREN'S class with a caring team. All classes are about having fun and being creative.
FLUID ART:
Join a class and you will be introduced to the wonder of fluid art where you can literally ‘go with the flow’ and let your imagination soar and create beautiful vivid pieces of artwork with astonishing designs of swirling gradients. Create original abstract art that you will wow your family and friends and you will be proud to put on your wall.
Julie is a passionate fluid artist who has been exploring this art form for more than 7 years after a lifetime of art, crafts and all things creative. Julie believes that art can enrich and transform our lives, and loves helping people find and express their creativity.
Julie is the Director of Live For Art, an art studio in Richmond Vic. Julie has managed community organisations for many years, has a Masters degree in Social Work and a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment.
ACRYLIC PAINTING, COLLAGE, DRAWING
Setareh Hosseini is now leading acrylic painting and other art forms at the Live For Art Studio. We are offering acrylic painting courses that paint a different style each week and plan to offer abstract classes and more.
Setareh is a visual artist who has exhibited internationally. As a child she was touched by her mothers art classes in a family where music and painting formed the atmosphere in the home. She has extensive experience teaching adults and children to be creative through a range of art forms and loves helping people be creative. Setareh completed a Masters of Illustration in 2005 at the Faculty of Art and Architecture, Tehran, Iran. She also has a BA in graphic design and an MA in illustration.
CHILDREN'S classes are held in the school holiday's and at other time, offering a range of art and craft activities, including paper mache sculture, book making, acrylic painting, fluid art, collage and more.
All tutors have a Working with Children's Check and experience working with children. You can be at ease knowing your child/ren are in caring, professional and qualified hands.
FOR ALL CLASSES … you need NO painting experience. Classes are suitable for the novice as well as hobbyists and artists looking to develop skills in specific new techniques. Everyone is welcome and included. Bring your friends or come along and make new ones.

What a joy to attend Julie’s Dutch pouring class! It was a lovely atmosphere and Julie was warm and knowledgeable. As an absolute beginner this class was perfect. We were introduced to the basics of Dutch pouring and given the opportunity to have a practice run on an extra canvas before trying our “real” one which was really helpful.
I would 10/10 recommend Julie’s class. Thank you Julie for a fabulous experience.

This class was just spectacular! The instructor Julie was so knowledgeable and skilled in both fluid art itself and as an instructor. Her teaching style really allows for students to let their creativity flow while learning a new skill. I'm really happy with my first attempt at a Dutch pour and I will definitely be back for more!

Julie (our instructor) was very precise, knowledgeable and very patient. Her calm demeanour allowed me to absorbent the information so much easier. The workshop was clean and organised making for an easy and creative environment to work in. Access of the materials was easily accessible, coupled with her clear instructions, helped make the workshop so enjoyable. All in all it was a fabulous 2 hours spent. Real value for money. If I didn't have to leave for Florida I would definitely do another session with Julie. I recommended my brother in law to do another session with her.

This was a great experience. Not only did we get to make some incredible art we learnt so much as well. The teacher was really helpful and kind and made us feel at home straight away. Even though we have limited artistic ability the way she conducts the class made us feel enthusiastic and creative.

Had the most amazing time at this class Julie was so lovely, helpful and explained everything so well. I was really happy with the results and super inspired to continue fluid art at home. She had a fantastic range of colours and all the equipment was ready to go as soon as we go there, well organised and made the class run smoothly so we could just learn and ask lots of questions before creating our final pieces. 10/10- would highly recommend:)

Julie is a very helpful and caring teacher. She is very knowledgeable and gave us the guidance that we need in order to achieve the piece of art that we'd like to achieve (and gave us reminders of the techniques and also suggestions when we are not doing them properly).
It was an intimate session due to the venue layout. Being surrounded by other artworks really inspired my partner and I to decide what we wanted.
We came with the hope of our creations to be at the very least presentable (since we don't do art classes often), but ended up being very amazed and satisfied with what we created.
Definitely would recommend this class (and other classes here) to everyone with or without experience!

The class was a very pleasant experience. Everything was set up for ease and keeping things as clean as possible. Julie was a knowledgeable instructor who gave clear and helpful instructions. The class length was well timed giving enough time to relax and enjoy wine and nibbles and still create both canvases and look at other's creations and mingle. Class size was nice and intimate.

No experience needed and a space that enabled exploration and learning without any judgment whatsoever. I was really pleased with the outcome I had and the picture I get to keep will inspire me to try more myself. My questions were answered not only with clear responses but with shown examples where practicel both in terms of the technique applied and a visual example too.

I really enjoyed the Dutch pouring class.
Julie was an excellent teacher, explaining the steps clearly. She supported us through out our painting class. Even though the venue is small, we each had our own area to paint.

Enjoyed dutch pouring workshop with our warm and knowledgeable teacher. Relaxed environment with lots of parking nearby. Good value, session includes practise and main canvas. Recommend to beginners. Look fwd to doing other workshops. Only considwration is if you have mobility issues discuss with teacher before booking.

The teacher Julie was a great! I like the practice a lot and that it was so learning. I been to Picasso and paint and this was so different in actual getting information about the process. And a totally different practice!
I would love to get like a little email whit a fact sheet of products and mixes that I would need to do this at home. So I can continue with the art!
Overall me and my partner had a great time and I think the price for two is good! We paying for her time and knowledge and material so absolutely fair!

Julie was a through professional. She made sure to work with everyone on the technique and explained the steps to follow very carefully. Julie also shared an email.with details of what was used during the workshop and where you can buy the products from. Everything required for the workshop was provided systemically layout so that everyone has enough space to work with. I feel confident to go ahead and create pieces of my own now.

I've long been fascinated by the dutch pour technique, and my attempts at home were woeful! But Julie made it all seem so easy and I was delighted with the result. The class size was perfect (just 6 of us) and Julie was a very patient teacher. Will definitely be coming back to try some other acrylic pouring techniques.

What an awesome experience
I'm a complete beginner (for any art) but with Julie's nurturing teaching and technique hints it was easy to be able to create Dutch Pour art that was unique and beautiful. Julie's friendly and gentle guidance made the class a delight while the venue and art supplies were great.
My friend and I are hooked! We loved the art method and would love to come back for a class with Julie again. I'm excited to go and get my two dried Dutch Pour pieces in a few days.

I attended this class with my 12 year old granddaughter . She was initially hesitant when she discovered she was the only child (it was school holidays), but the class was such fun & Julie was so encouraging with her teaching & welcoming that we'd both like to do another class. We both produced art works we were pleased with & enjoyed learning a new technique
I'd highly recommend this class to enrol in with other family members & Julie does well with both the artistic (like my grand daughter) & the not so artistic (me)

The teacher Julie was lovely, helpful and knowledgeable. She mixed up a special colour for me, even though there were many colours to choose from, already pre-mixed and ready for use.
Julie explained the techniques and how to mix the different mediums in detail and when we were ready to pour our chosen colours onto the canvas, she went around to everyone, ready to help. It was a class of 8 people, so Julie could easily spend some one-on-one time with everyone.
The venue was small but we had plenty of room to work. The room was filled with colours and artwork, which you could draw your inspiration from.
There were plenty of materials to go around, even aprons and gloves were provided to protect clothing and hands. It was great value for money as you learn about the douch pouring technique and the materials needed and you also walk away with 2 canvases of your own artwork.
I highly recommend this class, if you're looking for a creative outlet. You don't need to be skilled or artistic, you can just let go, simply enjoy the process, get a little messy and admire your creation at the end.

Amazing experience learnt about all types of mediums, consistency of paints, use of a colour and what shades/tones go well together, techniques that can be used. Thoroughly enjoyed my evening, well worth the money!

I really enjoyed this class. Julie is a fabulous teacher, explained everything really well. I'm impressed with the artwork I produced, didn't think I had an artistic bone in my body.
