Looking for a creative and engaging workshop for your kids these school holidays? Join us for a fun and exciting art and craft class in Melbourne.
In July 2026 let your creativity shine as you design and paint your very own canvas tote bag!
Children will learn how to use fabric paints to decorate a canvas tote bag using either stencils or their own original designs. They'll explore colour, pattern and simple painting techniques while creating a unique bag they can use again and again.
Perfect for creative kids of all skill levels, this relaxed and supportive workshop encourages imagination, self-expression and artistic confidence.
All materials are provided, including a canvas tote bag to take home.
NOTE: You will need to iron the tote bag after 24 to 48 hours to heat seal the paint. Instructions will be provided.
At our workshop, parents and carers are welcome to stay as observers or helpers, although it's not required unless your child needs individualized support. (Please let us know if you want to stay in the checkout comments.)
If your child is not able to follow instructions or needs more support than one staff to eight children can provide, then please discuss this with Julie prior to booking.
This workshop is not only about learning new art techniques, but it's also a chance for your child to explore their imagination, build confidence, and make new friends along the way. They will be proud of their creations.

CREATIVITY MADE SIMPLE. CONFIDENCE MADE POSSIBLE
Come and join the fluid art revolution with artist Julie Langdon at one of our FLUID ART workshops in our Richmond Studio. Julie explores a range of different acrylic pouring / fluid art techniques. Or join a CHILDREN'S class in the school holidays or the new after school 'Creativity Club'. We are also developing a range of new classes covering Gelli Print, Collage, Cyanotype and more. All classes are about having fun and being creative.
FLUID ART:
Join a class and you will be introduced to the wonder of fluid art where you can literally ‘go with the flow’ and let your imagination soar and create beautiful vivid pieces of artwork with astonishing designs of swirling gradients. Create original abstract art that you will wow your family and friends and you will be proud to put on your wall.
Julie is a passionate fluid artist who has been exploring this art form for more than 10 years after a lifetime of art, crafts and all things creative. Julie believes that art can enrich and transform our lives, and loves helping people find and express their creativity.
Julie is the Director of Live For Art, an art studio in Richmond Vic. Julie has managed community organisations for many years, has a Masters degree in Social Work and a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment.
CHILDREN'S classes are held in the school holiday's and starting in 2026, after school, offering a range of art and craft activities, including paper mache sculpture, book making, acrylic painting, fluid art, printing, collage and more.
All tutors have a Working with Children's Check and experience working with children. You can be at ease knowing your child/ren are in caring, professional and qualified hands.
PRINTING AND COLLAGE
We now run Gelli Printing classes and other forms of printing like Cyanotype. Look out for Collage classes too, where we create different papers and use them to create stunning collages.
FOR ALL CLASSES … you need NO painting experience. Classes are suitable for the novice as well as hobbyists and artists looking to develop skills in specific new techniques. Everyone is welcome and included. Bring your friends or come along and make new ones.
At Live For Art, ‘creating art for life’ isn’t just a slogan – expressing our creativity brings pleasure, fulfillment, builds self-esteem, and literally colours our day. Let us help you create ‘art for life’.
NOTE: the Live For Art Studio has moved to 180 Bridge Rd, which provides more space. Still on the same tram line (75 and 48) but now tram stop 17.
