Looking for ideas for your kid's school holidays? This Melbourne activity will bring some colour to their day as they explore fluid art, also called pouring art or acrylic pouring. This is a fun and creative form of art and is accessible to all ages.
Children will be introduced to the wonder of fluid art where they can create beautiful, colourful pieces of artwork. In this class, we will do one fluid art painting on 30x40cm back stapled wrapped canvas (or similar) OR two smaller canvases.
Great art projects come out of every class but the style and activities may vary! No experience is needed and is completely beginner friendly for every kind of creative kid out there.
Experienced teacher Julie will support your kids through their vibrant journey of acrylic pouring. Julie has a current Working with Children Check, Police Check and NDIS screening check. You can be at ease knowing your child/ren are in caring, professional and qualified hands.
Please note:
  • Parents/carers may stay as observers or helpers, but this is not required unless your child needs individualised support. (Please let us know if you want to stay in the checkout comments.) If your child is not able to follow instructions or needs more support than one staff to eight children can provide, then please discuss this with Julie prior to booking.
  • Parents/carers may also participate with their child (and book a ticket), but only one adult per child or group of children.
  • Fluid art needs to lie flat to dry, so it cannot be taken home on the day. It can be picked up from the studio in two to three days’ time.
What you'll get
  • Participants are provided with all supplies provided including non-toxic acrylic paint, pouring medium, gloves, apron, cups, tools, 12 x 16 inch canvas (or two smaller canvas), painter's tape, and scissors.
  • Drinking water will be provided.
Knowledge required
No prior knowledge or skills required.
What to bring
We use acrylic paint that is non-toxic. Remember to wear old clothes as it can be a messy business, and whilst the paint and mediums will wash out if you get to it quickly, that is not always easy to do.
