I come from a very small Italian island called La Maddalena (Sardinia, Italy).
I have been passionate about ceramics since I was five years old. I remember when I went on vacation to Tuscany with my family and was amazed by the ceramists in their workshops along the vibrant streets of the city centers.

Growing up, I didn’t have access to any ceramic studio until the age of 27, when I did my first ever ceramic course in a new studio in my hometown opened by a local ceramist artist. I’m very grateful to her, as she taught me all her knowledge and she is still an artistic mentor.

The course helped me find my artistic style which goes back to my roots. It draws inspiration from the Sardinian Costa Smeralda style and the beauty of my island.

I wasn’t always a ceramist. I’ve studied and completed a Master Degree in Civil engineering and worked in a corporate job In London and in the research field at Curtin University (Perth).

When I started making ceramics as a hobby, things fell into place and it reminded me of what I completely lost. My creative identity and nature. I loved to bring beauty to this world and decided to open my small ceramics business in London in March 2020, called Fra’s Ceramics.

In London, I have completed a Level 2 Ceramic Course at the WM College in Camden and I joined Studio Pottery London (a communal studio and a community of ceramists).

In London, I have participated in markets, open studios, sold my work through galleries, pop up Shops and shops.

When I came back to Fremantle, I decided to join Tafe for a glazing and kiln course. I have been producing and studying at Tafe in Northbridge since February.

I’m currently selling my pieces online, in markets and shops and I’m incredibly passionate about teaching hand-building ceramics during my workshops and classes.

I love to provide a peaceful and relaxing space where people feel welcomed and free to express themselves and their creativity. I think making pottery is a way of taking care of yourself and dedicating time to your wellbeing.
