Freeform Hand Building Pottery Class

Craft Without Limits: Discover Freeform Pottery, Beginner-Friendly

4 hours Class size 1 to 10 (public classes), 1 to 30

$159 (Afterpay available)
This flexible class is perfect for those learning about ceramics without being limited to making a particular object.
You can choose to make whatever you like, including mugs, cups, vases, bowls, functional ware, or even your own sculpture. Using dark stoneware clay, you'll learn to assemble from a starting slab. I'll guide you through any tweaks to customise your design, and you'll have the chance to experiment with techniques like slab, coil, and pinch.
For those undecided on what to make, there will be ideas and templates available.
Important details:
I will glaze and fire your piece, with the cost included in your ticket. I take great care in finishing your handmade items, but please note that clay can be unpredictable, and occasionally items may break in the kiln. This is a natural part of the ceramic craft.
Your work will be ready for pick-up approximately 6-8 weeks after the class. I will contact you when they are ready. Please note that I can hold works for up to 4 weeks from the date of your workshop. After this period, any unclaimed pieces will unfortunately be discarded.
Terms and conditions:
All ticket sales are final, non-refundable and dates are non-transferable. If you are unable to make your date you are able to send someone else in your place.

With over 30 years of pottery experience, a formal education in Art & Design, and a major in Studio Ceramics, I’ve traversed many creative paths, but clay has always been my true passion. My journey has included hunting, digging, studying, and mastering new skills, with pottery teaching me the virtues of patience and the beauty of imperfection.
From my studio in Fremantle, Western Australia, I create unique pieces that embody emotional authenticity, prioritizing essential beauty over conventional perfection. I am deeply passionate about sharing my love of making through teaching. I aim to provide an authentic experience where students feel comfortable exploring their own creativity. My workshops and private classes cater to all skill levels, inviting you to discover and express yourself in the captivating world of pottery.
