Introductory Gelli Printing - Nature and Patterns
Special introductory price: $79
New to Gelli printing? This beginner-friendly workshop is the perfect place to start.
You’ll be introduced to the magic of layering paint on the Gel plate using both natural textures and graphic stencils. Create botanical prints in one exercise, then explore masks and stencils in another — discovering how transparent and opaque layers build depth and interest.
This class is ideal if you love both organic forms and modern abstract design — and want to learn the foundations with confidence.
You’ll take home a collection of unique A4 patterned papers (printed from an 8 x 10 Gelli plate), ready to frame or use in card making, collage, art journaling, or other creative projects.
This class will cover:
  • Gelli printing basics including how to use the brayer (roller) and care of the Gelli plate
  • How to apply paints and choose colours
  • How to layer with leaves and botanicals
  • How to use stencils and masks for contrast
  • How to build depth with simple layers and understand opaque vs transparent layers
If you’re looking for fun, hands-on things to do in Melbourne, this is the perfect place to begin.
