Discover the art of wearable glass with our glass ring–making workshop! Led by experienced glass artists Simi Eliott and Aybike Orhan, this hands-on class introduces you to the magic of flameworking as you design and create your own custom glass rings.
After a live demonstration from your instructor, you’ll move straight into making your own pieces, learning how molten glass can be shaped into beautiful, wearable forms that reflect your personal style.
For beginners and enthusiasts alike–
This class will guide you through the fundamentals of forming glass rings, including shaping comfortable bands and adding decorative elements. Using a ring mandrel, you’ll create custom-sized rings made to fit you, and you’ll have the opportunity to make several rings during the session. Working with a mix of vibrant coloured and clear borosilicate glass, you’ll experiment with colour, pattern, and form to create one-of-a-kind designs.
You’ll leave with finished glass rings — perfect as statement pieces, thoughtful gifts, or personal keepsakes — all crafted by you during the workshop.
This two-and-a-half-hour session will cover:
  • The foundations of glass flame-working
  • A step-by-step demonstration by the instructor
  • Safe use of an “oxygen–propane” lampworking torch
  • Techniques such as sculpting, joining, stretching, and colour mixing
  • How to form, size, and finish glass rings using a ring mandrel
  • Creating multiple rings in custom sizes
  • Working with both clear and coloured borosilicate glass rods
  • Half an hour of kiln time for your pieces to anneal
An admin fee of $50 applies if you need to reschedule your class within 7 days of your class
