Hand Building Pottery Class: Inspired by Nature

Learn how to use nature in your pottery!

2 hours Class size 1 to 30 guests

$59 - $69 ($69 per guest when you book for 1+ guests, $59/guest for 4+ guests) (Afterpay available)

Step into a mindful hand building class in Adelaide and learn how to use nature in your pottery!
This hands-on pottery class invites you to craft your very own unique coffee cups and saucers by imprinting the delicate veins of garden plants—flowers, branches, and leaves—onto clay. Through a combination of rolling techniques and underglaze painting, you'll bring your botanical designs to life on functional pieces of art.
Perfect for both beginners and experienced potters, this workshop will guide you through each step of the process, from selecting and pressing plants onto clay slabs to shaping your cups and saucers and finally adding the finishing touches with vibrant underglaze colours.
The final pieces will be fired at a high temperature of 1280°C, making it dishwasher safe, food safe and microwave safe. After a few weeks, you'll get to collect it from the studio and use your very own cup and saucer set at home!

  • 4/5 from Kay Parkin, attended Jun 2026: Teacher was good and helpful. I enjoyed making a lovely mug! Please note that the car park at this location has an $18 fee and the studio is upstairs and there is no lift, so people with mobility issues may struggle with access!
  • 5/5 from Theresa Xanthopoulos, attended May 2026: Lots of fun and great for beginners.
  • 5/5 from Katrina Freene, attended May 2026: I loved the hand built pottery class. The time flew, Naomi was an excellent (and patient) instructor. They were organised and friendly, we are definitely coming back. :)
  • 5/5 from Zoë Cummins, attended May 2026: Absolutely loved this class. We went on Mothers’ Day and it was such a fun thing to do with my mum. Our teacher Naomi was really lovely, very helpful and a lot of fun. I definitely recommend this class.
  • 5/5 from Rachelle Cunningham, attended May 2026: My mum, nanna and I had such a wonderful morning doing pottery. The class was very enjoyable and our instructor, Naomi, was very pleasant, polite and encouraging. She's very knowledgeable and was good at coaching us through. All our mugs turned out great and we are excited to collect them in the coming weeks.
  • 4/5 from Marion Gadkear, attended May 2026: My Sister and I had a fabulous time making our cup and saucer The teacher was encouraged and informative Gave positive feed back Now we wait for the finished product
  • 4/5 from Kira Hall, attended May 2026: The class was enjoyable, my friend and I had funded we loved what we made. My only complaint is that the instructor was running 2 different clay classes, ours was a botanical one and the other couple was a separate one. The problem wasnt her running two different classes specifically but the inconsistencies of the instructor barely gave my friend and I any instruction, especially my friend. She barely spoke to her but was constantly instructing the other couple. My friend was having trouble and had to keep asking for help as she was basically ignored otherwise. Also, even though the other couple wasn't doing the botanical class, they were given the botanical from our class before we were so we had very little to choose from. I know it's not a big problem but it seemed odd to give supplies from one group to another that are supposed to he doing something different.
  • 5/5 from Lola Miller, attended Apr 2026: I loved the class it was fun and I learnt a lot! It was a great relaxed midweek night activity with friends or makes a good date night!
  • 5/5 from Melissa Eby, attended Apr 2026: My sister & I had a fabulous time led by Tracey during our nature-inspired pottery class. Tracey guided & encouraged us to help us create our own pottery creations. Thank you & we will be back!
  • 5/5 from Skarlette Barrett, attended Jan 2026: Fun amd creative
  • 5/5 from Laura Harrison, attended Aug 2025: Thoroughly enjoyed this class, was lots of fun, something different and creative to do, and the teacher we had was great. Looking forward to picking my mug and dish up!
  • 3/5 from Tahlia Polkinghorne, attended Aug 2025: Class was okay, not much instruction and also we weren't able to make a plate as ran out of time but this wasn't explained. Also the photos of the pottery is very misleading as we saw the instructor in the garden cutting leaves of their hedges before the class started, nice mugs but really nothing like the pictures advertised.
  • 4/5 from Heidi Magar, attended Jul 2025: The teacher was helpful and polite. First time to learn pottery. I made a mug and a saucer. The most interesting part was colouring them. It was a present for my birthday. I enjoyed it. Thanks.
  • 3/5 from Shelley Feutrill, attended Jul 2025: Lucky we were ‘crafty’ people, others might find the lack of direction challenging. Instructor worked between us and a group in another room so we were on our own with exception of some guidance every now and again across the 2 hours, which was ok for us. It will take 6-8 weeks to receive our creations.
  • 1/5 from Maria Herrera, attended Jul 2025: I’ve tried to contact the space several times to find out whether the mugs are ready or not and have received no reply or phone call back. Incredibly disappointing!
  • 5/5 from Sylvia Hibberd, attended Jun 2025: My friends and I had a wonderful time, lots of laughs and happy with the outcome of our pottery. Would go again
  • 5/5 from Carole W H Khaw, attended Jun 2025: Great teacher - Nicole Mindful satisfying session Enjoyable Only thing is why it takes so long to get our piece back
  • 5/5 from Natalie Coffison, attended Jun 2025: My teenage daughter and I had a beautiful afternoon making and painting a flower mug and small plate. Just the two of us in the class, was so chill and fun. Our teacher was super friendly and helpful, we will definitely be back!! Highly recommend this class. Cannot wait to pick up the final product. Thank you so much
  • 5/5 from Amelia Scott, attended Jun 2025: We had a wonderful private class, but got to make the cup only as we ran out of time. Maybe an instructional video sent out ahead of time could have helped so we would know what to expect, and how to better manage outlr time. Our teacher was very kind in extending the time a little bit to make sure we were happy with the end product. I also didn't think to bring my own florals / plant options so if you get the chance, do some planning ahead of the experience. I am excited to see the end results
  • 5/5 from Veronica Cozens, attended Jun 2025: Great fun! Thank you for your help with the pottery!
  • 4/5 from Monique Walsh, attended Jun 2025: We booked a private session for 6 of us and loved it. Our teacher gave very clear instructions to make our mugs but also encouraged creative flair. The location was a bit squishy and it would have been great to be provided with some aprons but overall the class itself and the teacher were great!
  • 2/5 from Paridhi Singh, attended Jun 2025: Sure! Here's a paraphrased version: The class was alright, but not great. The instructor seemed to be rushing through things—possibly because we booked the last session of the day—so I’d suggest avoiding that time slot. Instructions weren’t clear, and we ended up wasting a lot of time just waiting around and trying to find him. The website said the final product would be ready in 2–3 weeks, but after the session, he just told us to take a photo, without any proper explanation, and suddenly it said 6–8 weeks. The studio was a mess(even for an art studio). Honestly, the best part of the experience was the company
  • 5/5 from Diane Cass, attended May 2025: I was pleased with the 'class' (I was the only one there for this particular class). The teacher was extremely friendly and professional. I am pleased with the product, we'll see how it turns out after it's been in the kiln! I am happy I have done this, and I am also happy to recommend it to others.
  • 5/5 from Glairine Belderol, attended Apr 2025: The teacher is so nice and patient. We enjoyed it a lot!
  • 5/5 from Chany Sgobino, attended Apr 2025: Teacher was super helpful, engaging and very patient, my sister and I attended together and can be a handful, we enjoyed our class
  • 5/5 from Kaara Magoch, attended Mar 2025: The class was amazing and so much fun. There was only 2 of us so we were able to get one on one help every step of the way. Very happy to come back again and try something different.
  • 5/5 from Stephen Chen, attended Mar 2025: Thanks for the lesson! - Stephen and Clarisse
  • 5/5 from Kylie Taylor, attended Mar 2025: Very patient teacher who didn't rush us at all and generous amount of clay.
  • 3/5 from Brooke Zabrowarny, attended Mar 2025: The teacher was quite unclear
  • 1/5 from Sharon Farr, attended Mar 2025: Very disorganised poor teaching. Waited 4 months to get our pieces because he wouldn’t answer emails. When we finally got to go there all the trinket trays were in a tub one of ours was broken. You can see glue on the back but was told it was an air bubble. Still didn’t get our cups as we couldn’t find them and staff were too busy to help us. Hoping they get sent to us
  • 5/5 from Bianca Baulis, attended Feb 2025: Very fun class. Teacher was very patient and helpful. I’m looking forward to using my mug!
  • 5/5 from Michelle Tran, attended Feb 2025: Good fun!!
  • 4/5 from Davina Avery, attended Feb 2025: The class was good. The teacher was helpful, he instructed us what to do and then kept coming back in to make sure we were going ok and asking if we needed any help. I'm not really sure if they are going to look any good, lol. We have to wait 5 weeks to pick it up from Customer Service, with an access code if they are not there.
  • 5/5 from Jessica Ortega, attended Jan 2025: My friend and I went on a Thursday morning and we were the only ones there. We got a very personal one on one experience. The teacher gave clear instructions and demonstrated the techniques so that we as complete beginners were able to follow. Thank you for the class, can't wait to see how our pieces turned out.
