What you'll do
When it comes to sprucing up your house and health, spending a little green on greens is a worthy investment. It’s not just about improving your indoor aesthetic; even if you don’t normally notice a plant’s presence, seeing a plant can subconsciously make you feel calm and relaxed, and it keeps the air clean and full of oxygen.
That is until you realise you don’t know how to look after it, the leaves start turning brown and limp, then one day you notice it is past the turning point. Oh well you think, “I’ve never been good with plants, I can’t even keep a cactus alive” you throw it to the curb and start again with a plastic imposter.
Never fear, Haylee is here and she is going to teach you all you need to know about keeping your indoor plants alive.
You will learn:
- The benefits of having indoor plants
- The best types of plants to keep indoors
- The do’s and don’ts of indoor gardening
- How to re-pot a plant (the right way)
- How to make your own homemade pesticide

Her knowledge of growing habits and life cycles of different plants and the close symbiotic relationships between humans and flora is second-to-none. When she isn’t creating mini-ecosystems and propagating seedlings, Haylee teaches yoga, meditation, and sewing, and runs her label Evie Black.

Work-Shop is a creative concept that will broaden your horizons and help you unleash your inner awesome. We provide affordable short courses in life skills and alternative art. We’ve teamed up with Australia’s brightest creative minds to share their knowledge and help teach you a new skill. From 3D printing and stencil art through to music and gardening – life skills and personal development through to cooking doughnuts and mushroom foraging, we offer a broad range of fun and creative short courses to suit our time poor lives. We will inspire you to pick up that pen, paintbrush, hammer or sewing machine and flick the switch that will kickstart a whole new way of life.
Community values lie at the heart of our project. We collaborate with local artists and industry experts to teach classes and utilise local suppliers for any materials needed. We also provide a creative environment for emerging artists to produce and sell work, and meet like minded individuals. Work-Shop will be a space for everyone, with a rotating schedule of art shows, information nights on local issues and a whole range of events and community initiatives.
