4.9 (65)Amanda is the creatrix behind the ever-evolving world In Aetheria. An interactive offering showcasing her own unique spin on the art of water marbling finessed over years of experimentation. This is paired with her study of fashion design, being an alumnus of Bachelor of Fashion Design (honours) RMIT. Thus, at this stage, her products are being worked predominantly into clothing.
However, the only limit is one's imagination! She is flowing with ideas on how the marbling may be worked into a plethora of product /interior design and art pieces.
Thus, opening up her studio was the obvious direction! To be able to share this art with others, offer the nuanced way in which she applies it to fabrications, and inspire attendees of her workshop to develop their creations into their own unique outcomes.

The water marbling class with Amanda was great fun! Amanda was lovely - super friendly and informative, and such a kind teacher. We had jam packed 2 hours of fun trying out various marbling patterns and transferring onto paper and cloth. I would definitely do it again and wholeheartedly recommend it for all.

Had such a great time at the Water Marbling workshop at In Aetheria! Amanda is so warm and a great teacher - she'll go through the basics and techniques with you at the start and then you get to test out patterns before you commit to transferring it to fabric.
Class was a good size so you could meet new people but also have time with Amanda for advice or help. Really great space with lots of room.

Loved the workshop! Amanda is passionate and friendly. The water marbling is very achievable for absolutely beginners and the process is very fun, even therapeutic. It's so forgiving and full of pleasant surprises!

One of the most enjoyable workshops I’ve done! Amanda was a great teacher with a clear passion for her craft and a desire to share it with others. She helped us create pieces of work we were genuinely delighted with while encouraging us to experiment. Can’t wait to wear my new scarves!

What a delightful way to spend a Saturday. I took my mum and we had such a lovely time creating. The finale was a beautiful silk scarf each (high recommend pay the extra).
Amanda is a great teacher and is very patient.

A serene few hours taught us a beautiful lesson - there are no mistakes in art! Our family enjoyed every minute, especially our 10-year old daughter! Do choose the scarves option - it is worth every dollar! Attached is the scarf creation of my daughter! Wish I could add more photos here to show the many lovely creations we all made! Thank you, Amanda, for your calm, tranquil presence and encouraging words - your teaching style set the mood for what was a rejuvenating afternoon!

Water marbling was a thoroughly tranquil and calming experience. Amanda was very welcoming, kind and just overall a lovely personality. She showed me how to manipulate the paints in the water to make mesmerizing designs. She was incredibly helpful and attentive through the whole process and gave plenty of guidance. I got to do a few practice pieces on paper and then my final on fabric. I am very happy with my end design. I would recommend this workshop for anyone who enjoys tranquil creativity.

Great experience! I bought this as a date night night for my partner and I, we weren’t sure what we were going to be doing but it was one of the best dates nights yet. Amanda is so lovely and helpful, she loves what she does and it shows in the work she produces. The class was so much fun we got plenty of time to practise before transferring our art onto the material that we get to take home and have on display. We had purchased a larger piece to do together and that was a really fun way to work together and join our ideas for a beautiful piece. Would 100% recommend this to anyone for all groups and ages.

My recent Water Marbling Workshop was terrific. The teacher was really upbeat and had good knowledge that she was happy to share with us. The class was well structured with a lot of time for experimenting with the colours and flow of the ink before we made our take-home pieces. We could also take home the practice samples we made on paper, which is a nice bonus. The class was fun and relaxing. Highly recommended

Venue is close to tram and train stops. Coming to Amanda’s roomy studio you will see her lovely creative pursuits on display incorporating her water marbling and artistic skills. You will draw a lot of inspiration from Amanda’s marbling designs. Water marbling is fun and you will be amazed at the self expression you can achieve using the different inks, water and a simple tool. I printed marbled paper, marbled cotton fabric then I opted for a silk scarf fabric to print, so I have a wearable memory. A relaxing art class you will enjoy with a pleasant teacher. Recommend you buy a take home silk scarf that will reflect your own printed marble design.

Amanda was lovely and her studio is well set up and easy to find.
The materials we needed were all ready and waiting for us, and we had a private lesson.
Marbling is a very zen activity and we left with lots of beautiful marbled paper for card making, and two pieces of material to be used as wall hangings and cushion covers.
Had a great day. Highly recommend this class.

A fantastic experience with an amazing teacher. She talked us through everything and we made some awesome scarves! Highly recommend this for a post lunch or pre dinner activity and no need to worry about getting dirty.

We really enjoyed our 1.5 hour lesson with Amanda. Amanda gave us some handy tips, and then let us loose to water marble! Even someone who is not creative at all (like me) can create a product that looks beautiful. We signed up for the basic class with no additional inclusions but ended up doing an additional two small pieces of fabric and a scarf. The designs looked great and it was lots of fun. I like that the pieces I made can be functional - we now have four extra napkins and a piece of fabric I am going to turn into a cushion. The scarf looks truely awesome and I'm looking forward to wearing it.
I look forward to visiting again, and making more awesome creations. I review everything I experience (very honestly), and this one was truly awesome. I'd highly recommend it for friends' get togethers or hens. I reckon that you could make sashes for a bride's do if you wanted! Or this is totally also appropriate for your teens - yes, there's a black ink and they can create something as dark as they like.
Word of warning to wear either black fabric and/or be conscious that you might get a few bits of ink on your fingers. This is the day after and I still have some blue under my fingers. Oops?

Thanks for being so welcoming Amanda and making it easy to create beautiful art. Swirling the colors around was fun, and I found it to be really calming. I have already used the fabric for a cushion. We had a great time. Would highly recommend to anyone, even in the heat it was cool inside the studio.

Amanda was a friendly and knowledgable teacher and was set up in a great studio space. The techniques are easy to learn and very effective. I decided to add on the scarf, which was a great choice. I was very pleased with the outcome. She also has some great garments for inspiration and for sale.

This was a fun workshop, albeit quick with just the two of us there. Definitely worth a go if you want something low stress and creative.

You’re welcome, thank you for the feedback.
As stated in the description attendees have ‘up to’2 hours- some do take longer to complete their art and havnt received any inclination of disappointment for finishing up earlier before and I am sorry to hear that was disappointing for you.
The small swatch to begin with is given as practice so thought I’d covered that area- if you had let me know I would have been happy to provide you with extra paper- but Thankyou I’ll make that clearer to people in the future if they feel they require more practice.
As you might imagine when the class size is larger the 2 hours is quite fitting- I will be changing the limit to at least 4 people in the future.
The estimated time also caters to those who have selected optional add ons (which many people do)- so I’ll also make that clearer in the description.

Lovely instructor who was passionate about the art form and used it in her fashion business (so got to see examples of the end result). Technique was demonstrated and then I was able to try it myself on a square of cotton- and then move on to the big square (I upgraded to a silk scarf and it made a huge difference to the transfer of colours).
Really creative and enjoyable trying out the different techniques and seeing how the colours react when a new one is introduced (though I had to learn not to get too attached to one shape or pattern because if I added more nearby it would morph into something new entirely).
Note - these need to dry, so you don’t take them home with you on the day.
