What you'll do
In Aetheria Studio has opened a water marbling experience specifically for kids to enjoy on their holiday break!
After a quick introduction to how to approach the marbling bath, kids will have free reign to play and explore how the inks morph and create new and exciting patterns. They will become mesmerised!
Then, they are invited to draw on the surface of the water to move the ink into their own desired patterns. This process is quite therapeutic, where this class is evenly as much about getting lost in the process as it is about the final product.
Kids will transfer the art onto two pieces of paper, that can be turned into cards or framed or whatever else they want to make.
As the main piece, art will also be transferred onto a pre-mordanted piece of 100% cotton fabric, which means it will be completely wash-fast once aftercare instructions are followed. This is a 65x65cm square, with raw edges.
This piece has many end uses, and In Aetheria studio loves to spark imaginations on what they could be! Some examples for this class would be a bandana, a neck scarf, hanging art, a pillowcase.. the list goes on!
By the end of the class, kids can take home their fluid art works, as well as fun memories of the class!
There are aprons available to wear in the studio, and you are welcome to bring your own.
Note- the edges of the marbled fabric are left raw to be versatile for end uses. If you would like the edges finished (folded hem) this is an optional add on

Your teacher
Amanda is the creatrix behind the ever-evolving world In Aetheria. An interactive offering showcasing her own unique spin on the art of water marbling finessed over years of experimentation. This is paired with her study of fashion design, being an alumnus of Bachelor of Fashion Design (honours) RMIT. Thus, at this stage, her products are being worked predominantly into clothing.
However, the only limit is one's imagination! She is flowing with ideas on how the marbling may be worked into a plethora of product /interior design and art pieces.
Thus, opening up her studio was the obvious direction! To be able to share this art with others, offer the nuanced way in which she applies it to fabrications, and inspire attendees of her workshop to develop their creations into their own unique outcomes.
