Join Michele Elliot for this hands-on workshop to learn Shibori, the Japanese art of resist-dyeing.
Shibori means to bind, wring or squeeze. It encompasses a wide range of resist-dyeing techniques for embellishing cloth. It is a magical process and produces exquisite patterns.
You will learn a range of simple techniques that include folding, pleating, and binding. Michele will guide you through these methods to create sample squares and a tote bag, after which you will transform your item with the magic of indigo.
This workshop is the first of two, and each session covers different techniques. You are welcome to book for either or both; each will offer a different experience. There is a discount offered for booking both; the second workshop is on 18 May.
What you'll get
