Let's explore the ancient art of Paper Mache that originated from China in BC202. They used to make warrior helmets and pot lids with paper mache.
Paper mache was practiced in different parts of the ancient world like Persia, Indo-Pak, Japan and Europe. Lately, plastic replaced most of the artefacts made by paper mache.
We will revive this beautiful art form in a simpler way to help the young ones get creative and imaginative. You'd be amazed to see how old ordinary papers can transform into a lovely sculpture or decor item for your room.
You will be supplied all materials and some ideas to get creative in this amazing class. But you can still bring toilet/ kitchen roll tubes to get extra benefits from the session.
Please bring your apron and dress up casual. Suitable for beginners 7-12 years of age.
Every class will have a new theme.

Rehana Usman is an artist with a Bachelors' degree in Textile design from NCA Pakistan. She has served in the leading textile companies of the country and participated in several international trade shows like Heimtextil Frankfurt & Shanghai, Maison et Objet, Texworld etc.

Print design and styling have been her expertise both in apparel and home textiles. She has run several workshops for textile students along with being a thesis consultant and an associate professor at NCA. Rehana is also passionate about watercolour painting and famous Pakistani Truck Art. She writes children's stories for her Urdu podcast and creates the illustrations.

She has set up STUDIO RAGS to promote value-added skills. She aims to share her expertise with other people by offering regular workshops. She carries many stories and experiences from other parts of the world.
Rehana is multi lingual and can speak four languages. She is simple, imaginative and very proud of her origin.

Indonesian batik is her speciality in Australia. Her workshops have received 5 star reviews in Adelaide Fringe. Batik was declared as a Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.

These adult workshops are about equipping you with new personal projects or a creative hobby and making new friends. Kids can also discover the artform and upskill for both leisure and career opportunities.
