Description

Learn the art of making unique Japanese inspired Kokedama moss balls in this fun and relaxing class.

Kokedama has been around for centuries. It's a variety of Bonsai, consisting of petite plants living off a ball of special soil and moss, bound by string. You can hang them, feature them in bowls, let them stand 'naked', or do something more creative!

Perfect for beginners and people who like to get closer to nature and get their hands dirty, as well as those looking for something different to do. The Merchant & Green team will make it easy for you to follow along, and you'll be amazed by what you create with your own two hands.

You will make a set of 3 Kokedama moss balls, 2x small, 1x medium. Choosing from a variety of petite succulents and seasonal indoor plants.

At the end of the class you can take your new moss balls with you, to style in your home. They also make an original gift for someone special. A Merchant and Green care card and carry bag is included. They're easy to take care of, and will bring a nice touch of greenery into any space.

This class can also be customised to fit special events or occasions (where you're welcome to bring drinks and nibbles if you like), and we can also travel to your venue - just contact us. Group bookings 6-25 guests welcome.
Our Redfern studio can only comfortably fit up to 10 students, so larger classes will be held elsewhere (we can organise the venue, or we can use yours)

Aside from this class, this teacher also has the following coming up:

Regular classes can have up to 6 students; however this teacher can take up to 10 students for special events.

Booking larger group events is easy. Just Request it.

Located in a quiet and leafy street, this workshop was so much fun and set at a really leisurely pace. The morning didn't feel rushed and we were taught kokedama in a set of really easy to digest steps and were guided throughout the whole process. Ian always offered help or advice when we needed it and made it such a great experience. Would highly recommend!

I absolutely loved this class - was a Xmas present for my mum who loved it too! Great location (the florist is beautiful, loads of all day parking and a great cafe next door!), really friendly teachers, small class size. The Kokedama we made and took home are stunning (and worth more than the cost of the class if purchased from a florist!) and it was just SO MUCH FUN! Really really great morning!

Chris and Mitch were so friendly and inviting - they were wonderful teachers and hosts for the night. The shop was a beautiful intimate space with lots of pots and plants that we couldn’t help but buy too! The class was lots of fun and even the most uncoordinated were able to get the hang of it! We all walked away very proud of our kokedamo creations. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a fun hands on experience.
