In this captivating textiles class, you'll discover the art of creating your own professionally finished lampshade. Guidance is provided, so you can learn how to create your own stylish drum lamp, measuring 30cm in diameter and 22cm in height, perfect for a pendant/ceiling or lamp.
Don't worry if you're new to this activity - this workshop is designed for beginners, offering a welcoming environment for you to explore your creativity. You'll be working with lampshade paper that is specifically engineered for these lampshades, ensuring safety with its anti-static, UV stable, and flame-retardant qualities.
During the session, you'll get to bring your own fabric (approximately 120cm x 30cm) to personalise your creation. Opt for light to medium weight cotton, linen, cotton drill, or polyester cotton for best results. If you need fabric guidance or prefer to purchase on the day, a variety of suitable options are available from Suzanne at Imprint Corner.
Materials such as lampshade frames, lining, tape, and instructions will be provided for you. By the end of the class, you'll not only take home your unique 30cm drum lampshade but also a newfound confidence in your crafting abilities.

Imprint Corner aims is to promote knowledge exchange, in a fun interactive environment. When it comes to slow living and slow food, Susan Sinclair is a strong advocate. Susan is passionate about fermented foods and natural plant based dyeing techniques. She loves teaching her workshop attendees how to make their own organic, artisan crusty sourdough and delicious homemade cheeses. Additionally, Susan’s appreciation of beautiful things and sustainable slow fashion, has led her down a path of exploration and experimentation towards naturally dyed fabrics using food waste and plant-based dyes. By building the foundations of knowledge, Susan believes this empowers her attendees, so they are comfort to create their own masterpieces.
