Learn Painting and Drawing: Express Yourself with Colors

4.5 hours total (over 6 dates) Class size 1 to 3 guests

  $210 (Afterpay available)

Do you know there’s a way to express yourself freely and beautifully?
With brush strokes, with colours in your hands—letting out all that you feel. And in that process, you begin to see yourself more clearly. You feel relaxed. Like how you feel after a massage. Sometimes, when you’re angry, you just need to let it out—and yes, the result can be messy. But when you let it out on paper, it becomes something beautiful. And you’re lighter, calmer.
This is what I want to offer you—a space to express, a space to feel, a space to create.
You don’t have to be an artist. You don’t need any prior experience. You only need to come as you are—with your emotions, your thoughts, your curiosity.
I’ll guide you through ways to express what you’re feeling—whether it’s bold or subtle, abstract or clear. You can choose what to say and how to say it.
Along with emotional expression, you’ll also learn the basic techniques of drawing and painting—so you’ll have tools to explore your own visual language.
This space is open and supportive—no pressure, no judgement. Just creation.
Disclaimer: This is not therapy or a substitute for professional help. It’s also not an art therapy session. It’s simply a space for self-expression and learning through art.
Here’s how the journey will unfold: 6, 45 min session each over 2 weeks
Session 1: Introduction to Emotions & Art
We’ll begin with a gentle introduction to emotional expression through art—what it means, why it matters. The focus will be on colour and how different colours can reflect and hold your emotions.
Session 2: Lines & Movement
In this session, we’ll explore lines—how they can represent energy, feeling, tension, release—and how to use them in your own expressive work.
Sessions 3 & 4: Creating Your Own Expression Piece
We’ll begin creating a full expressive artwork based on your emotions and thoughts. This is your space—free to explore, release, and reflect. The fourth session will continue this process, letting your expression unfold more deeply.
Session 5: Learning Through Artists
We’ll study artists who use expression as their language—how they use colours, shapes, forms, and techniques to communicate what can’t always be said. You’ll get inspiration and insight into how expression evolves.
Session 6: Tools, Techniques & Transition
I’ll share with you the tools and techniques I personally use to express myself. You’ll also learn how to keep developing your own expressive language—whether through form, symbolism, or technique.

After this, you can choose your next step:
You can take everything you’ve learned and continue your creative journey independently.
Or, if you’d like to go deeper—exploring original work, learning more techniques, or continuing guided expression—you’re welcome to continue working with me in future sessions.
This series is for anyone—no experience required. Just a willingness to explore, to feel, and to create.

Hi, I’m Riya — an artist, a curious soul, and someone who’s always exploring different corners of life — from agriculture and business to books, ideas, and emotions. But one thing that’s always stayed close to me is art. I’m self-taught — guided not by formal rules, but by instinct, feeling, and the need to express. Art came into my life quietly and never really left.
For me, art is more than a skill — it’s a way of being. It’s how I process, how I heal, and how I speak when words fall short. When I’m overwhelmed, confused, or even angry — I create. And in that space, things begin to make sense again. Art has taught me that you don’t always need language to connect — you just need honesty. I love how everyone sees something different in a piece, something personal. That quiet exchange is what moves me.
Alongside creating, I’ve also taught art — mostly online, with kids. It was fun, playful, and reminded me how natural creativity is when it’s not boxed in. Teaching made me want to explore more, and offer space where others could also discover how freeing and healing art can be.
I also had the opportunity to exhibit my work in a group show at AIFACS Gallery in Delhi, which gave me the encouragement to share my work more openly with others.
I truly believe anyone can make art. You don’t need fancy tools or years of training — just a willingness to explore. That’s what I hope to share with others: the freedom, the healing, and the fun that art can bring.
Let’s create something meaningful together.
