Looking for fun things to do in Melbourne with friends? Why not try something new and check out this beginner-friendly linocutting workshop for teenagers from 12-18 years old.
In this class, you will learn how to carve lino and print by hand and press. You'll learn about carving, inking, paper choice, and considerations when choosing a design to create.
The great thing about linocut is the wide variation of style and contrast that can be achieved by switching up the different tools you use!
In the class, your teacher will talk you through some different ways to print at home without a press. You'll also discover places to buy the materials you'll need, from tools to presses.
- First, you'll draw a design (come with some ideas).
- Then you'll learn how to carve your plate with your own design.
- Once you've finished carving, you'll do a test print to get the inking just right and then produce a small edition of prints to take home.
You have the option to request a private class for a time and date that you wish. The cover charge for a private 2.5 hour workshop is $100, for 1 to 6 participants.
Please note:
Public dates for this class require at least 3 guests to run. In the unlikely event that we don't reach this number, we'll cancel the class;
