Cellina has been formally teaching for more than ten years, both in Australia and overseas. She has a Certificate IV in Training and Education as well as a Bachelor of Arts and a Diploma of Education. Prior to forming Loaded Brush, she was most recently involved in establishing the Middle School at Reggio Emilia inspired, Bold Park Community School.

Sharing the Reggio Emilia philosophy of education, Cellina believes in creativity as an essential quality of learning. Loaded Brush experiences are designed to inspire and provoke creativity in a safe and authentic environment. Collaboration is another critical element of learning and Loaded Brush encourages a friendly, social atmosphere.

Cellina enjoys challenging the barriers to creativity. Her work with teenagers has refined her skills and sensitivity to the often self-imposed obstacles we implement from an early age. She is also inspired by teenage bravado and seeks to share the joy of risk-taking with people of all ages. Finally, she is ever faithful to creativity as “the essential dimension” of living and learning.

“We are too often taught to separate that which is connected, to divide rather than bring together the disciplines, to eliminate all that which can lead to disorder. For this reason, it is absolutely indispensable to reconsider our relationship with art as an essential dimension of human thinking. The art of daily life and the creativity of daily life should be the right of all. Art, then, as a part of our lives of our efforts to learn and know.”

The class felt unprepared the only thing we were taught was to join 2 pieces together. We felt ignored the teacher only spoke really to one other lady. I also had 2 children with me and teacher did not offer me assistance the same way. I don't know why I was so ignored. $80 is a lot to pay, and I was so disappointed. The teacher had her children there and her son was very angry and threw some of the shapes and tools when he left the table at the direction of me and my 5 yr old, he also kicked a chair next to me when he walked past. I really would like my money back and if I do receive my refund then i do not want my pieces fired or ever back, they can be binned. I was looking forward to this but it was just awkward and disappointing.

Teacher's response

Thank you, Andrea, for sharing your honest feedback. Apologies the session did not meet your expectations. We value all of our students equally and it is unfortunate that you felt ignored. The session is as described deliberately not instructional as we encourage creativity rather than copying. We also try to make space for parents and children to connect, but certainly did reach out to your daughter who seemed content in her exploration of the medium.
We will address these issues and provide you with a full refund.

Kids and parents really enjoyed. Very therapeutic playing with clay. Bonus can take some home to play with.

Great class, free form fun. Lovely location and atmosphere. Didn’t like my actual painting much, but hey it is what it is.
