What you'll do
Welcome to Honey Wines Australia! Our tastings are designed to help you discover and appreciate the unique flavours of our meads. If you're here to explore and perhaps find a new favourite to take home, we're excited to share our knowledge with you. If you're just looking for something fun to do, you're still welcome, just let us know at the start so we can ensure everyone has a great experience. Cheers!
You'll learn about mead, which is wine made from honey instead of grapes and it is the oldest fermented drink in the world. This tasting location is at our small shop attached to our house in Broke. We have various flavours available.
Your 6 mead samples will be prepared on a paddle board in shot glasses. We also have 6 flavours of honey to taste - so 6 honey-tasting paddle pop sticks will be allocated per ticket.
Following the mead tasting, you will taste a few local honey varieties including raw honey, vanilla honey, plain, cinnamon and chocolate creamed honey, and a chilli honey sauce.
The session usually goes for about 45 mins or longer if larger groups.
Please note: Although we prioritise service to booked visitors, the shop can have walk-ins.
