I am a portrait artist based in Perth teaching classical drawing and painting techniques. My work has been selected for National Portrait prizes around Australia and I have completed commissions for customers including the Supreme Court of Western Australia. I pride myself on making all students feel comfortable and welcome in the classroom, no matter their ability and experience.

Had a wonderful time learning about color mixing and the use of oil paint with Melissa. Instruction was clear, I felt well guided but was also able to give the painting a go on my own!
Time flew by and I am not longer scared of oil painting bur rather obsessed with it!

Melissa was fantastic and extremely knowledgeable. She showed us some Renaissance examples of work, and explained the theory of why this was an effective layer in painting. We did warm up exercises before starting on oil paint, which illustrated the fundamentals of the class easily, whilst also allowing us to get into the swing of painting. The venue was great, and the materials provided were high quality. The experience was great, I learned a lot and am very glad I attended this class.
