What you'll do
In this fun and creative workshop, you'll learn to master your camera's manual mode, and practice on some of Melbourne's most picturesque attractions.You'll learn about composition, ISO, aperture and shutter speed, and about travel photography (street portraits, architecture, still life, abstract, landscapes, nature). You'll do hands-on exercises to put theory into practice, and get one on one photo critiques to help you develop your technical and creative abilities.This class will proceed regardless of weather, as there are covered sections available for use.Your Melbourne teacher will be either of:Peter has been a pet and portrait photographer for over 20 years. He’s very experienced and really understands where we’re coming from, knowing exactly what to teach us. The class was fun, and I enjoyed it a lot! That being said, if I were to take the class again, I’d prefer to do it separately—one class per day. There’s a lot of information to take in, and by the time the night class starts, I felt a bit overwhelmed, and my brain just cant remember what the leason were! For me, the night class was more fun than the day class because we got to experiment with different light sources. However, I think the daytime class is probably more useful for everyday life. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I learned so much!

He has some very useful props for us to test different photo techniques and even posed as our model so we could take some portraits. He also took us to some really nice spots with views of the city that I didn’t know about, and we could take some really nice shots. I think it’s an amazing course for a beginner such as myself, and it’s full of information. I had tried some online photography courses in the past but then found myself overwhelmed when trying to take a photo on my own. This experience was exactly what I needed since Paul was right there as I practised to answer my questions and help me choose the correct settings. I definitely feel more confident now! Thanks Paul
