Get ready to unleash your creativity and immerse yourself in this fun and relaxing workshop!

In this Hand building with Clay Workshop you will have the opportunity to create your very own Old Garden Boot Clay Planter, perfect for a favorite potted plant or ideal as a succulent starter.

Feeling a bit apprehensive about your pottery skills? Never fear! Experienced instructor, Carolyn from Clay Sanctuary, will guide you through each step with easy-to-follow demonstrations and individual guidance.

Not only will you create a quirky boot planter for yourself, you will learn the basics of using templates and formers, slab making and correct joining techniques as well as the use of colour and surface decoration on sculptural forms.

Working with clay has a therapeutic quality that is both relaxing and uplifting, leaving you feeling refreshed and inspired.

We will have a break for lunch midway during the session.

You will leave the workshop with the confidence to use these techniques to create just about any clay sculptural form in the future.

Your creation will be fired in a kiln when completely dry, (which may take a couple of weeks) after which your choice of glaze will be applied before the final firing.

Your boot will be available to collect at around four to six weeks after the class.

The wait will be absolutely worth it as you'll have a truly unique and functional clay planter that will be the talking point at your home or garden!
