Your chance to play and create

2 hours Class size 1 to 8 guests       $35

These creative open days at Collective Obsessions are exactly what they sound like—casual, fun, open studio sessions where you get to choose what you make, and enjoy some creative time!
We offer two-hour blocks for $35, but you're welcome to book as much time as you need. Book 1, 2, or even 3 blocks in a day—it’s totally up to you
Come with a plan, or wing it when you get here
Past students ONLY (If you're new, message us—we'll point you in the right direction!)
Whether you’re feeling resin vibes, keen to try a Dutch pour, or itching to make some colourful resin jars for the kitchen, we’ve got the space, the tools and the snacks! The possibilities feel endless (okay… maybe not quite endless, but close enough!).
Here’s what you need to know:
  • ️ You’ll need to purchase your own surfaces and materials (like canvases, boards, clay or resin) on the day. Prices start from just $10.
  • No BYO canvases or boards, sorry, only members are allowed to BYO!
  • We provide everything else in your session—including cleanup
We’ve got:
  • Canvases from $12.50 to $95
  • Resin-ready cheeseboards, trays, lazy Susans, jars, and more, ranging from $10–$105
Bring a friend, your partner, the kids, or Mum (she’ll love it!), but it's up to you to show your guest what to do. Or just come solo and soak up the creative energy.
Ready to play? Book your spot and come create something magical!

Collective Obsessions is a creative studio and community space in Balcatta, Perth, designed for people who want to try new things, make cool stuff, and surprise themselves. We're also proud 3 x Time SBA Award winners!
What started as a love of getting hands-on with creative mediums has grown into a colourful, welcoming studio offering workshops, open studio sessions, memberships and private events. We work across a range of mediums including resin, alcohol inks, water marbling, acrylic pouring, textured art and so much more.
More than anything, Collective Obsessions is about people. Our workshops are filled with first-timers, returning guests, and our beautiful creative tribe who make the studio feel like home.
If you’ve ever said “I’m not creative”, you’re exactly who we’re for.
We’re on a mission to…
Make creativity feel accessible, fun and safe.
We believe creativity isn’t about talent or experience - it’s about giving yourself permission to play.
Our mission is to create a space where people can slow down, switch off their busy brains, connect with others, and feel proud of what they make.
Whether you’re joining us for a one-off workshop or becoming part of our creative tribe, we want you to leave feeling lighter than when you arrived.
Our top tips for beginners is…
Don’t overthink it - just start.
You don’t need any experience, skills or artistic background. We’ll teach you the techniques, guide you step-by-step, and then encourage you to make it your own. The best pieces often come from experimenting, happy accidents and trusting your instincts.
There is no “right way” to create here.
You’ll leave our workshop feeling…
Proud, relaxed and slightly obsessed.
Most people walk in feeling unsure and walk out buzzing - with something beautiful in their hands and a new appreciation for their own creativity. Many leave already planning what they want to try next.
Meet the Team:
Rochelle - Owner
Raised by a creative dad and a crafty mum, Rochelle has had art running through her veins from day one. From charcoal sketches and fashion design to photography, creativity has always been her language.
These days, Rochelle pours her energy into art, nature-inspired wood pieces, flow art, and guiding others on their creative journeys. Her passion is contagious, her encouragement endless, and her favourite moment is watching someone realise, “OMG… I made that!”
Fuelled by laughter, ocean swims, studio time, and anything chocolate, Rochelle is your biggest creative cheerleader.
Meet Mean Boss – aka Jamie
Co-Founder & Artist
Affectionately known as Mean Boss (don’t be fooled - he’s a big softie), Jamie is drawn to the quirky, the unexpected, and the beautifully imperfect.
With roots in photography and a deep respect for nature and traditional craftsmanship, Jamie’s creative journey led him into timber, then expanded into charcoal, resin, acrylics, ink, graphite, and beyond. Always experimenting, always pushing boundaries, and often breaking things along the way (the okay kind).
Back in the studio, Jamie brings relaxed vibes, big ideas, and a little mischief to everything he creates.
That’s our story and we THANK you for reading and taking an interest.
