Providing social art classes in beautiful South Brisbane

4.7 (251)

I'm a Brisbane-based artist, and I've been painting and drawing since my early childhood days. I was fortunate to receive a scholarship from the Queensland Art Gallery, which gave me ample opportunity to pursue my passion and hone my skills.

I'm very much inspired by the beauty and diversity of Australia. Many of my paintings focus on landscapes, surreal, animals and people. North Queensland is a particular favourite, and you'll see the influence of coral seas and mountain landscapes throughout my artwork. I have a post-impressionist style through which I try to capture the wonder of the world around us.

I specialise in pastel on card, and acrylic on canvas, though I'm also experimenting with abstract and air brush.

I've been fortunate enough to display my work in many art exhibitions, and have been the recipient of many prizes and awards.

I offer Paint and Sip sessions along with Clay and Sip sessions, both at discounted rates for Class Bento Patrons. I believe in bringing these experiences to the customer at the very best competitive price possible, the real Australian Way. Emma was brilliant. Everyone really enjoyed the session with her! Lots of fun. Venue was cosy. Will have to come back next time to try a different painting

Paint and Sip Class for Private Functions review by Christina Theravanish

Evette Cunial Dec 2021

A couple of minor points to provide constructive feedback on
- Emma rang me at 2:20pm wondering how far away we were. Then during her introduction mentioned we only have 1.5hrs since we started late. I then had to show her my booking confirmation showing we were actually booked in for 2:30-4:30pm.
- At The Bavarian, Surfers Paradise, Emma and the staff set up our group of 8 in the window-front corner. We took a while to settle because half of the table was in the hot sun and no one wanted to sit there. We persevered and three of our team members sweated through the whole class. It was also difficult for them to see what they were painting on the canvas properly with the sunlight shining on it. Emma said she's never taught a class there before. I wouldn't recommend you doing another paint and sip session in that spot again.
- The Bavarian Haus Restaurant ran out of Ginger Beer, so only two out of five team members could have a second drink of ginger beer. Was a bit disappointing.

Reply from this teacher:

Hi Evette, thanks for letting me know about the Bavarian Haus Restaurant experience at Surfers Paradise. That is disappointing as always on the lookout for venues willing to host the paint and sip events especially during the busy Christmas period. Sounds like the best seat in the house with views, is the worst seat in the house. I will definitely take this matter up, meanwhile have a great Christmas and Happy New Year.
