Join us for an enriching ceramic painting class in Brisbane! Discover the joy of working with ceramic paint as you decorate your own dinnerware, vases, and pots.
In this workshop, you will learn how to paint with glaze paint and create your own design. This is a self-creative session where you can paint what you want (therefore limited guidance).
Don't worry if you're a beginner, our relaxed and supportive environment is perfect for all skill levels. You'll be amazed at how quickly you pick up the techniques and find yourself immersed in the creative process. Get ready to unleash your inner artist!
At the end of the workshop, you'll have your own glazed ceramic pieces to take home and proudly display.
How this class is different to the pottery painting session we also offer?
In this class, we are painting on already gloss glazed ceramic pieces that do not need to go through the kiln again.
We are using a special over glaze gloss enamel ceramic paint that is food safe. You can take the items home on the day, and then to set the paint, it needs to go into the oven for half an hour which hardens the gloss paint to a strong no scratch surface. This is non-toxic and can still be dishwasher safe using this superior brand paint. We will give you the run-through on the day.
This a fun class to see exactly what you will have at the end of the session, compared to the pottery painting class that uses under glaze, which does change colour and effect after the glaze kiln firing.
Note: Ceramic pieces for separate sale on the day priced accordingly to your piece selected based on the surface area of paint required. I'm a Brisbane-based artist, and I've been painting and drawing since my early childhood days. I was fortunate to receive a scholarship from the Queensland Art Gallery, which gave me ample opportunity to pursue my passion and hone my skills.
I'm very much inspired by the beauty and diversity of Australia. Many of my paintings focus on landscapes, surreal, animals and people. North Queensland is a particular favourite, and you'll see the influence of coral seas and mountain landscapes throughout my artwork. I have a post-impressionist style through which I try to capture the wonder of the world around us.
I specialise in pastel on card, and acrylic on canvas, though I'm also experimenting with abstract and air brush.
I've been fortunate enough to display my work in many art exhibitions, and have been the recipient of many prizes and awards.
I offer Paint and Sip sessions along with Clay and Sip sessions, both at discounted rates for ClassBento Patrons. I believe in bringing these experiences to the customer at the very best competitive price possible, the real Australian Way. The Retail on these sessions is RRP is $45 however I offer Clay and sip at $29 per person early bird tickets booked 3 days before, and Paint and Sip sessions from $29 per person Earlybird tickets when booked 3 days before. Our Friday and Saturday nights are also the most competitive prices found in Brisbane discounted down to $29 per person earlybird tickets. We offer the highest quality service with artist assistants to help customers with their paintings, along with the teachers. Our assistants will also run sessions so we will have two teachers for a single session. We have the largest range of paintings available with over 80 paintings on the gallery page of Wesley Taylor Art Studios, with the painting for each week can be found on the web page.
We hope you enjoy these sessions for a fun experience. The paintings are creative for maximum impact of colours, while keeping in mind for first time painting experience. Those with little more practice will create some amazing pieces
