Neither of us are very good painters, and one of us is definitely a perfectionist! We are so happy with all the help and tips and tricks we were given from our teacher, and are so excited to hang our paintings!

The teacher we really chill and helped us make our art as good as we could make it, but making it nice and fun and not too serious. I am so glad we got to have this experience. It help relax us and slow down while in the art session. Highly reccomend!

The only small negative was the brushes - they were in really bad condition - really wished I had brought my own! It made some detail difficult.

Was a fabulous afternoon - we all received a pre-sketched portrait of our pets (particularly handy for those not artistically inclined, like myself) and Catherine was a great tutor who provided us with great tips & tricks to ensure our paintings looked great! Was a very relaxed environment, in a great space that accommodates for snacks as well. Would definitely recommend this experience!! Thank you Ladder Art Space and Catherine, for a wonderful day :)

• 3/5 from Hannah Cogger, attended Nov 2025: Whilst I really enjoyed painting my dog, I didn’t find the class very helpful or instructive, I found my teacher more occupied with her own canvas than in helping the class…I found the equipment provided very limited, and in not great condition. If you are a beginner, I don’t think this is the class for you! I found we were pretty much left on our own to paint from our photos. Honestly? I can do that at home, I don’t need to travel for an hour or pay for it! I think for this class to be beneficial you need good knowledge of painting techniques, colour mixing, shading, form etc. I don’t know if I’d do it again or recommend to people who’ve not painted before. I do think this class would likely be a good fit for people with some skill and confidence.

Katherine was welcoming and encouraging and it’s just a lovely way to spend an evening together. Lots of fun. We ordered food in and brought our own drinks and it all worked really well. Katherine was an amazing teacher—patient, encouraging, and incredibly helpful throughout the process. She guided me step by step, ensuring I felt confident while painting. Her tips and techniques made it easier to bring my pet’s personality to life on the canvas. The class was well-organized, relaxing, and perfect for all skill levels. I left with a beautiful painting of my pet BOBA that I’m so proud of. Highly recommend this class and Katherine as an instructor!
