Join us in our glass studio for a special hands-on glassmaking workshop in Canberra.
In this workshop, you will learn the basics of creating your very own hand-painted and kiln-formed glass bowl using recycled window glass and vitreous enamels.
No experience necessary, our internationally renowned instructor, Lisa Cahill, has 25 years of glassmaking experience and will guide you through every step of the process. You'll learn how to mix enamels and paint and then watch as your creation comes to life in our fully equipped kiln glass studio.
Your piece can be abstract or representational, and you will have full control over the design either choosing an existing template from a large selection or creating a new one. Bring your ideas or decide on the day. We can print out an image for you to use as a template, or you can let the paint guide you. No painting skills needed, just come and enjoy learning a new skill.
Being fired in the kiln will bring out the unique colours and textures of your bowl. Once the firing is complete, it will be ready for pickup or postage approximately a week later (sooner if needed for interstate guests), serving as a beautiful reminder of your creativity and the experience. Postage can be arranged for a small additional cost.
Come and join us in our glass studio for a lovely, relaxing workshop that will leave you with a stunning piece of art to show your creativity.
The studio is centrally located in Fyshwick close to Canberra Outlet Centre, Bunnings, and Officeworks.
