Did you know that paper ain't just made from trees? You can use all sorts of scrap materials to create custom handmade sheets of paper. Reuse, reinvent and recycle and turn your paper scraps, veggie waste and garden cuttings into one of a kind paper in this hands-on paper making workshop.

In this class, you'll learn the ancient art of papermaking from start to finish. Create gorgeous, eco-friendly stationary using clean office waste, flowers, grasses, raw cotton to create one of a kind textures and colours. From basic pulp papermaking techniques to pulp production, forming, couching and drying, we'll cover everything you need to know to impress the sh*it outta your mates.
Experiment with a wide variety of materials and leave with a bundle of beautiful finished handmade paper made by you!

Please note: This class requires at least five students to run. In the unlikely event that we don't get this number of students, we'll cancel the class and fully refund you and inform you via email, so please watch your email a few days prior to the class.

Please note: This venue is located on the first floor via a flight of stairs and does not have wheelchair accessibility.

What you'll get

- All materials supplied to make your own paper! Notes and paper-making recipes to continue your learning.

 

 

What to bring

- Feel free to bring along a selection of flora from your garden to add to your paper. This is a very wet activity, make sure you come in comfortable clothing.

Michelle (Mitch) Lackenby is qualified and lectures in the areas of Advertising, Graphic Design/Art and Photography and has always been obsessed with pushing the boundaries of art and design within the realm of paper and bookbinding.

She has over 20 years of industry experience in creative fields which lead to the opening of her own business specialising in artist services, design and workshops. As the creative Director of Paperazzi Design studio, Mitch oversees the branding, photo shoots, art/design direction for the business.

Mitch is also the resident Paper Artist for Paperazzi Design Studio where she collaborates with other artists and is currently working on the prototypes for their new product range.

Work-Shop will be a space for everyone, with a rotating schedule of art shows, information nights on local issues and a whole range of events and community initiatives.
