Equine & pet portrait, seascape, abstract & Resin Artist.

After excelling in Art at Mercedes College, I was accepted to Edith Cowan University studying Visual Arts. And later Business & Professional Accounting at Curtin University. After a 20-year career working and Studying in Book Keeping & Accounting until 2016, I began painting again and realised where my passion was.

The opportunity arose in December 2018 to open a Children's Art Studio, I have been working to create and develop a Fun and Comprehensive Curriculum to teach a wide range of skills and mediums to children whilst teaching correct technique in a manner that can be adapted to different skill levels.

Working from my East Victoria Park studio, I teach Childrens Art and run a School Holiday Program for Children and Resin Art & Other Fluid & Abstract workshops for Adults.

I have been working with Resin for 3 years and have exhibited some of my large scale Seascapes in December 2020 & sold many pieces to Western Australian clients & Galleries.

I like to teach children a wide range of mediums including Drawing, Clay, Acrylic, pastel and Oil Paints, I generally work in Pastels for custom portraits and Oils for my more contemporary style painting.

Specialising in original commissioned Custom portrait paintings and more contemporary stylistic, colourful works. I had always been an animal lover and have always been drawn to horses. Over the past 5 years I have worked hard to develop my own style of Equine Art.

Shannan was great. Excellent advice, but very relaxed and positive. Only 6 students so we got personal attention.

This experience was booked for my mum as a birthday present from myself and my daughter age 9yrs (we all went together). It was our first art class with an artist.

The session was relaxing and the right amount of time, however it did not appear to meet the summary outline and it felt as though it was only for adults but hadn't specified an age range.
See suggestions for improvement in the feedback below.

We all turned out with a great picture, and a memorable experience. Thank you!

Reply from this teacher:

I’m very sorry your experience was not to your expectations. The adult workshops offer refreshments & bubbles and are targeted for adults, groups and are not ideally suited to young children. I am very sorry for the confusion and I hope that your daughter and mother still enjoyed the experience and their lovely artworks.

I am a kids art teacher, I have various age groups for childrens classes.
Junior 5-8
Senior 9-12
Teens 13-16
All of these classes have a varied time span which accommodates the child’s attention span and the project.

Regards
Shannan
