She had a bottle of bubbles with cheese & crackers waiting for us she gave us a demonstration of the different techniques and then helped us with our colour selection.. I had a few questions and needed some assistance along the way and she was amazing, really helpful and patient (even though I couldn’t stop blending) Great workshop, can’t recommend enough, was a lovely gift off my best friends from the UK.

I chose the pastel drawing class because I love this medium but I've had no real art experience since school - I'm 67! Shannan Nicole explained and demonstrated the basics and was very encouraging. Her studio was cosy and set the stage for a real art experience. The time went very fast but I enjoyed every moment. Here's what I took home. Thankyou, Shannan, and thankyou Angeli!

• 3/5 from Teika Chinnery, attended Mar 2025: Recommend having a gap between class commencement as the one prior to ours ran late, so after clean up, set up, and choosing an image along with instructions, it was an hour into the session time until we put pastel to paper (resulting in rushed session). Also recommend advising attendees to bring along a picture of the seascape they would like to paint - that took a lot of time and added pressure. Teacher was good, engaged and knowledgeable.

Shannon was very helpful when selecting the right image to paint and explained the processes before we began, then offered assistance throughout the evening to make sure we were happy with our painting. I found the evening very relaxing painting my favorite sunset over a glass of bubbles and some laughs. I was very happy with the finished product and can't wait to get my pastels out, now that I know how to use them properly.

She was extremely involved with the process of creating our works and took my mother and I under her wing as we were novices. I am really thankful to Shannan for helping my mother and I paint a landscape that is special to our family and for showing me that art can be fixed even if you do make a little mistake. Couldn’t belief my eyes that I was able to paint as I don’t draw or paint. Love the little group who were so friendly and the nice champagne and cheese Shanan served. Highly recommended.

It was our first art class with an artist. The session was relaxing and the right amount of time, however it did not appear to meet the summary outline and it felt as though it was only for adults but hadn't specified an age range. See suggestions for improvement in the feedback below. We all turned out with a great picture, and a memorable experience. Thank you!
