Silvana clearly has pertinent experience, skill and passion for this medium. loved the hands on, step by step, tactile, glass selection, cutting, washing and arranging. I love the unpredictable nature of the outcome. The setting and Silvana made it the perfect way to spend 3 hours, learning something new. I'm excited to see how the pieces turn out. It's been a joyful experience for me.

Silvia was super helpful and encouraging and we can't wait to pick up our final pieces. A wonderful way to spend a Saturday morning in good company and in beautiful surrounds.

Silvana showed introductory videos, explained some glass chemistry and physics, and gave practical advice on every step of the process. I especially enjoyed selecting the colours, imagining the final product. Thank you Silvana!

We had fun picking out our glass and learning about the technique, how glass behaves, how colours interact and why. Loved it, can’t wait to see what we produced!

The initial learning is sitting through a set of videos for basics learning which might suit some learning styles. I would have preferred to hear from Silvano herself. She’s so obviously an expert. We reviewed other students work for inspiration and understanding what to expect of our own which was good, although I think just a few not all the portfolio would have plenty. The variations of colours and shapes is incredible. The studio work was fun, we chose our glass colours from huge boxes of off cuts and were guided as to ratios of coloured to clear. We washed and cleansed the off cuts and put them all in a pot to be put in the kiln for melting - ultimately into a disc of about 30cm which later on Silvano placed on our chosen shape, a plate, a bowl, a vase, to Crete your own beautiful and unique piece. We learned about kiln temperatures and whys and energies of glass properties which I found fascinating. Buddy (chihuahua) kept us company the whole time! A great way to spend half a day learning, being hands on in a very relaxed and friendly studio with Silvano who clearly loves what she does.

Great selection of glass and if the colours interact with each other. A fun day as the kiln will produce the surprise piece. Great creative time.

This class has a detailed set of notes to help guide you through the entire process and Silvana is an excellent teacher who's knowledge will help you create a great piece of art. The hands on experience working with glass was also excellent. As someone who has not worked with glass before, Silvana's guidance helped greatly, and i was able to cut and break the glass with confidence by the end of the workshop. Overall, this is a relaxed and informative workshop to help kick start you interest for working with glass, and i highly recommend both this class and Siju Glass as a whole.
