What you'll do

Clay play with Deep Blue Ceramics is a fun hands-on class where you will learn the basics of creating with clay and have fun getting your hands dirty.

You will have the opportunity to learn about and play with clay and be introduced and guided in a variety of techniques to create several items, either functional or decorative or both! You will be guided in the techniques required to create your masterpieces in a relaxed and inclusive environment.

At the end of your class, your creations will be glazed and fired for you, ready to collect a few weeks after the class. This class is perfect if you're searching for new things to do in Canberra!

Please note:

You will need to collect your fired pieces from our Studio approximately three to four weeks after your workshop.
Public dates for this class require at least 5 guests to run. In the unlikely event that we don't reach this number, we'll cancel the class; in this case, we'll inform you and allow you to get a refund or reschedule, so please watch your email/SMS one day prior to the class.

Amy is hands and heart behind Deep Blue Ceramics.

Devoid of creativity for much of her previous professional life she fell head first into Ceramics; learning, making, sharing and teaching, all after falling in love with a handmade mug purchased at a market.

Amy's classes are welcoming and supportive, beginner friendly one of experiences through to term length courses for intermediate potters. She loves to share #clayplay with individuals and private groups alike!

We had an absolutely amazing experience! we had a group of us all attend one evening for some fun and creativity and Amy really delivered. we learnt about how to 'play' with clay and created some amazing pieces with clear directions. Amy encouraged freedom of our own creations and offered ideas and guidance when needed. her new studio was comfortable and we see many potentials with the space in years to come. (we also loved meeting the Turkey)

Amy took us through 2 ways to create pots/vases/containers and then encouraged us to get making! Basically unlimited clay to make as much as you can during the class. She's also got lots of paints and stamps for decorating.
Her new studio space is lovely and private. Bring snacks! It was a great evening. Can't wait to pick up our peices!

Do yourself a favour and book in for this class! Such a warm and friendly vibe, with the perfect balance of supportive instruction, combined with the time and freedom to play and create. The eco friendly, quality materials and the setting in a beautiful and peaceful yoga studio were a bonus I really appreciated. Great value class. Five stars all the way!

Warm, friendly, fun and professional.

We were made to feel welcomed and looked after as soon as we walked through the door.
The location was cute and perfect for a hands-on creative session. We had heaps of clay to play with and the session was easy to understand, and follow. We felt like we had a lot of time to get our hands dirty and create some amazing pottery.

We enjoyed every minute and would do this again!

I purchased a voucher for my husband's birthday. We had such an amazing time together. The space was calm and inviting. Amy was very welcoming and supportive of all levels of ability. In a relaxed way wee got to explore using clay for the first time and walked away feeling proud of what we had created. thanks amy, we will definitely be back to experience more clayfun!
