Join us for an evening on the wheel, learn essential potters' techniques, and have some fun along the way!

2.5 hours Location West Perth Class size 1 to 6 (public classes), 10 to 12   $160 (Afterpay available)

Looking for fun things to do in Perth? Join this wheel and wine workshop today!
In this pottery workshop, you’ll use the wheel to sculpt and create a ceramic piece, focusing on using your hands to create something that is truly one-of-a-kind.
Megan will show you the techniques required to start creating on the wheel and then you can spend the next few hours practicing your new skill and sculpting a keepsake full of your own unique personality.
The pottery wheel can be challenging, sometimes on the first go, you might not create something you love. We will do our best to help coach you along the way, which makes this class perfect for beginners.
Not to mention, you'll have your favourite drink in hand, while you dive into the world of wheel throwing.
After the workshop, your pieces will be bisque fired, clear glazed, and glaze fired before being returned for you to collect and treasure within six to eight weeks. If you create more than two items, you can pay a kiln and glazing fee of $10 per item to turn other creations into usable ceramic vessels.
We can’t wait to introduce you to your next creative hobby!
Please note: Ceramics can sometimes be unpredictable. Due to this, there are limitations on the size of your items, sadly pieces break during the firing process and we want to ensure you have a beautiful and functional piece. Trust us, we have had to learn from heartbreak! Don't worry though our expert will cover all of this at the start of your workshop.

  • 5/5 from Richard Barry, attended Oct 2026: Lovely young instructors. Very easy to follow directions. A lovely afternoon spent in clean properly fitted equipment & great instruction. The wine and nibbles ban extra treat!! Thoroughly enjoyed our pottery wheel afternoon.
  • 5/5 from Hayley Docherty, attended Aug 2026: This was SO fun - it sounded so difficult at the beginning but then with lots of support, we all managed to make some great pieces! Teacher was fantastic, and I didn’t feel silly at all when my pieces broke or looked a bit dodgy! Welcoming and warm environment with plenty of wine and snacks, perfect date night.
  • 5/5 from Alana Maratos, attended Jul 2026: Teacher was very friendly and approachable. My husband and I really enjoyed the workshop as a special wedding anniversary experience! Had lots of fun trying something new and different together!
  • 5/5 from Kirstin Kirsch, attended May 2026: Pottery is hard work! This class / experience was so fun and so insightful, it defiantly made me want to pick it up as a hobby and master the art.
  • 3/5 from Maureen Faas, attended May 2026: Our instructor (apologies, I've forgotten her name) was really good, but feel that she was spread too thin with 11 of us in the class (and two didn't arrive). I saw several people wanting help at various stages and she was already trying to help others; sometimes this meant that the piece was lost because assistance didn't come soon enough. We also didn't start the session until well after 3.30pm (the doors didn't open until 3pm) and we were supposed to start cleaning up at 5pm so this didn't equate to a full two hour session. It might have been better to open the doors earlier to allow everyone to settle in, grab a drink etc so that we could start on time. My sister did thouroughly enjoy the session even though she only had a small cup at the end; she said that the whole process was very relaxing and enjoyable.
  • 1/5 from Yvonne Gabriel, attended Oct 2025: The "class" was overpriced and not enough guidance. The instructor say at a wheel, giving instructions all at once quiet fast. This was meant to be beginner friendly. It definitely wasn't. Some loud obnoxious woman were given the most attention at one end of the room where our end had us struggling to even do a second piece. While the other end finished four. We were rushed to finish and it wasn't great because we didn't even have a second to decide what we wanted to make. When she did decide to help she essentially made it for us by "guiding" our hands. It should've just been her messaging pieces for us to take home the way it ended. It was really disheartening. Then you're meant to clean up after? Like 30 mins of the time you paid for is used to clean up... Either add more tone for clean up, or state that that tone will be used and give an estimate of the time you have to create each piece. In the instructions prob maybe do it in broken down steps as it's a lot to remember. Like get everyone to centre, then create a home, then pull the edges and give ideas on how to do different shapes for different kinds of designs.... Anyway it was definitely but worth the price. Vibe to done it you can but a throwing wheel for 2/3 hundred and just do it yourself with online tutorials.
  • 5/5 from Nicole Brown, attended Aug 2025: The teachers were very welcoming and were incredibly patient with a class full of beginners! There were a few too many instrucions to take in at one time but after a couple of tries a lovely cup looking thing was created.
