The group class is so much fun and covered everything from working a lump of clay to glazing your creations. Amy and her team are great teachers and super encouraging. As an absolute beginner, I expected to maybe come away with a wonky bowl or plate, but instead I completed a number of plates, bowls and little vases for the kiln. Immensely satisfying and highly addictive as am now looking other Deep Blue Ceramic classes.

Such a great studio that seems to naturally host a really supportive culture between classmates, with teachers who are both passionate and knowledgable. Somehow we all made so many things in such a short period!
  • 5/5 from Rosemary Jose Puttananickal, attended Mar 2026: I took a beginners wheel throwing class that spanned 5 weeks and I had the best time with Kate as our instructor. • 5/5 from David Wright, attended Oct 2025: I took a beginners pottery course with Matilda and found the sessions calm and relaxing. The space felt meditative. The group stayed friendly and supportive. I liked that I could work at my own pace and try out ideas without pressure. Matilda gave clear guidance and checked in when I needed help. I finished with 10 pieces and saw steady progress. This course works well if you want a comfortable place to learn and experiment.
  • 5/5 from Sanam Seghatoleslami, attended Oct 2025: Amazing experience. Matilda was exceptional, made every effort to adjust the height of the wheel to make it more comfortable for my sore knee and hip. Thank you.
  • 5/5 from Maryanne Jenkins, attended Oct 2025: I recently completed the wheel class for beginners, Matilda was an excellent and patient teacher.
  • 5/5 from Vanessa, attended Oct 2025: Great instructor with endless patience for all skill levels. Was a joy to do! Good to have several nights to refine techniques you learn, then opportunity to glaze your finished pots. Good class size in general if most are fairly independent - could get tricky if there's a larger portion of individuals needing a lot of 1:1 reinforcement of ideas.
