- 5/5 from Robyn Griffiths, attended May 2025: Sally helped us host a relaxing ladies afternoon for a very special friend's 40th birthday. It was a lovely way to come together and celebrate in the most beautiful surroundings and relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommend speaking with Sally.
- 5/5 from Atol & Natalie, attended Jan 2025: I did a private ceramics class with Sally Smith at Deep Earth Ceramics in January, and it was such a fun, creative and nourishing experience. I made my own mug, plate and bowl — something I’d never done before — and felt so proud of what I created! Sally’s instructions were simple and clear, which made the process feel easy and accessible. She held such a relaxed and playful space that allowed my creativity to really flow. I never felt rushed or restricted — just completely immersed in the joy of working with clay. This class was everything I hoped it would be and more. Highly recommend if you’re looking for something hands-on, mindful and creatively fulfilling. Thank you, Sally!
Your teacher
With over 30 years of pottery experience, a formal education in Art & Design, and a major in Studio Ceramics, I’ve traversed many creative paths, but clay has always been my true passion. My journey has included hunting, digging, studying, and mastering new skills, with pottery teaching me the virtues of patience and the beauty of imperfection. From my studio in Fremantle, Western Australia, I create unique pieces that embody emotional authenticity, prioritizing essential beauty over conventional perfection. I am deeply passionate about sharing my love of making through teaching. I aim to provide an authentic experience where students feel comfortable exploring their own creativity. My workshops and private classes cater to all skill levels, inviting you to discover and express yourself in the captivating world of pottery.
