One of the most recognizable features of my figures is their exaggerated feet. This form traces back to my childhood on a kibbutz, where everyone walked barefoot, except me. As a heart-child, my mother insisted I always wear shoes. What once felt like limitation has become expression. The feet now ground my figures, holding memory, vulnerability, and resilience within their weight.
My work reflects on us humans with boldness and humor. I observe and allow quiet moments, gestures, and forms to speak for themselves. My inspiration comes from a life shaped by travel, encounters with different cultures, and a deep curiosity about people and their inner worlds.
The clay talks to me and forms itself as the figures are “being born” through my hands. This is why I choose to give my sculptures human names. Each form carries a personality that invites the viewer to connect in diverse ways.
After studying ceramics, I opened my studio to teaching in 2004, following many years spent at sea with my life partner. Becoming an artist fulfilled a long-held childhood dream. My work has since been exhibited and collected in France, Russia, Israel, and Australia.
My soul mate passed away in 2022, and I relocated to Perth to be close to my children and grandchildren. The ocean I look at now reflects a journey of movement, loss, and continuity.
At the heart of my practice is a belief in unfiltered, non-judgmental, and deeply human intuition. I hope my work invites viewers to reconnect with the child and the artist within themselves, and to listen more closely to what quietly wants to emerge
