Ready to create something truly next level? This is where resin meets design…
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll create a stunning statement piece using burl wood and resin. Choose to design either a table, clock or river board that becomes a true feature in your home. Working with 400mm, 600mm silicone moulds or pre built board, you’ll build your piece from the ground up, combining natural textures with flowing resin to create something completely unique.
Design your piece your way:
  • Ocean-inspired designs with movement and depth
  • Embed coins or meaningful objects
  • Add personal touches that tell your story
  • Let the natural burl wood shine through
No two pieces are ever the same… and that’s the magic.
What you’ll create:
  • A resin table, wall clock or board
  • A fully finished, functional statement piece
  • A design that reflects your personal style
  • Includes clock mechanism, table legs or handles
What you’ll learn:
  • Working with moulds and burl wood
  • Resin pouring techniques for depth and clarity
  • Embedding objects safely and effectively
  • Creating balanced, high-end finishes
This is more than a class… It’s a feature piece for your home. The kind people walk in and say, “Where did you get THAT?”
Please note, this may take multiple pours if you are placing items in your piece, which means multiple sessions. These are booked privately with us when you do your first class.
Please Note: For safety reasons, this workshop isn’t suitable during pregnancy.

  • 5/5 from Donna Comi, attended Sep 2026: A really great class, that in stages goes all the way from an empty mould to a finished polished statement piece. I've only completed stage one at the moment and I'm looking forward to learning the new techniques in the next few stages. Jamie and Rochelle are very helpful and great at answering any questions you have along the way.
  • 5/5 from Peter Pawlette, attended Apr 2026: Received this as a gift. Learnt the difference between what can be done and when it can’t be done. The instructors are nice and very casual, safety is paramount here. I liked it a lot, there is no judging and all the help you can ask for. The atmosphere was incredible, I do have to be a little quieter though. And the best bit is the snacks while you are learning, scrumptious and healthy……..ish.

Collective Obsessions is a creative studio and community space in Balcatta, Perth, designed for people who want to try new things, make cool stuff, and surprise themselves. We're also proud 3 x Time SBA Award winners!
What started as a love of getting hands-on with creative mediums has grown into a colourful, welcoming studio offering workshops, open studio sessions, memberships and private events. We work across a range of mediums including resin, alcohol inks, water marbling, acrylic pouring, textured art and so much more.
More than anything, Collective Obsessions is about people. Our workshops are filled with first-timers, returning guests, and our beautiful creative tribe who make the studio feel like home.
If you’ve ever said “I’m not creative”, you’re exactly who we’re for.
We’re on a mission to…
Make creativity feel accessible, fun and safe.
We believe creativity isn’t about talent or experience - it’s about giving yourself permission to play.
Our mission is to create a space where people can slow down, switch off their busy brains, connect with others, and feel proud of what they make.
Whether you’re joining us for a one-off workshop or becoming part of our creative tribe, we want you to leave feeling lighter than when you arrived.
Our top tips for beginners is…
Don’t overthink it - just start.
You don’t need any experience, skills or artistic background. We’ll teach you the techniques, guide you step-by-step, and then encourage you to make it your own. The best pieces often come from experimenting, happy accidents and trusting your instincts.
There is no “right way” to create here.
You’ll leave our workshop feeling…
Proud, relaxed and slightly obsessed.
Most people walk in feeling unsure and walk out buzzing - with something beautiful in their hands and a new appreciation for their own creativity. Many leave already planning what they want to try next.
Meet the Team:
Rochelle - Owner
Raised by a creative dad and a crafty mum, Rochelle has had art running through her veins from day one. From charcoal sketches and fashion design to photography, creativity has always been her language.
These days, Rochelle pours her energy into art, nature-inspired wood pieces, flow art, and guiding others on their creative journeys. Her passion is contagious, her encouragement endless, and her favourite moment is watching someone realise, “OMG… I made that!”
Fuelled by laughter, ocean swims, studio time, and anything chocolate, Rochelle is your biggest creative cheerleader.
Meet Mean Boss – aka Jamie
Co-Founder & Artist
Affectionately known as Mean Boss (don’t be fooled - he’s a big softie), Jamie is drawn to the quirky, the unexpected, and the beautifully imperfect.
With roots in photography and a deep respect for nature and traditional craftsmanship, Jamie’s creative journey led him into timber, then expanded into charcoal, resin, acrylics, ink, graphite, and beyond. Always experimenting, always pushing boundaries, and often breaking things along the way (the okay kind).
Back in the studio, Jamie brings relaxed vibes, big ideas, and a little mischief to everything he creates.
That’s our story and we THANK you for reading and taking an interest.
