Learn to be a pro with a sewing machine in this sewing course for beginners in Subiaco!

Studio Thimble's level one course is perfect for beginners. Similar to martial arts, in order to earn your black belt, you need to start with the basics with a white belt! This sewing class is designed to help you start your sewing journey in the fastest and easiest way.

Avoid sewing frustration and disappointment, and learn in a small group of like-minded people with peer-to-peer support and expert guidance. One of our knowledgeable sewing teachers – Olga, Denise, or Daniela, will guide you through your project every step of the way. Everyone starts as a beginner, so we understand how you feel when you're just learning. This class is meant to be fun and accessible so you don't need to stress. We will take you on the journey from setting up your sewing machine to making your first handmade ready-to-wear garment. You'll be proud of all you'll be able to accomplish in this hands-on sewing class.

This class will set you up with the knowledge and confidence to continue onto a level two sewing course if you continue to follow your sewing passion. In the second level, you will learn how to work with garment patterns.

If you want to learn how to sew, you'll learn all the sewing basics in this intimate group setting with a hands-on lesson. After five classes, you'll feel ready to tackle sewing projects like a pro.

Classes can run longer for people working at different paces.

When School Holidays fall into the course time frame we usually make a break for adults classes, so we can work with kids classes during school holidays. Please discuss the plan for your group with your teacher at your 1st class.

My name is Olga, I am founder of Studio Thimbles where I combine my 2 greatest passions – sewing and connecting with people through teaching and creating together! I have more than 20000 hours of sewing under my belt. With such experience now I teach kids and adults beginner’s sewing skills, magic of creating for yourself from raw piece of fabric.
